Good stuff everyone, thanks for the info.
Sean, I look forward to results...and sincerely hope that this leads to them (or someone) making 4x5 peel apart again in the future. Alex at Mr Cad in the UK was hinting archly at Photografica this year that he was in cahoots with TIP to bring back 4x5 in the future, once the 8x10 was on the market. It's a huge shame that the TIP guys didn't inherit any of the 5x4 manufacturing infrastructure because as sexy as 8x10 is (esp. in marketing terms), there must be so many more of us out here with 4x5 cams who would give any new product a go. I definitely won't be buying an 8x10 just to use the TIP film (which I can't see being cheap...or even affordable)....and I'm not sure I'd go to the trouble of making a pinhole just to use their film. BUT, I'm
incredibly excited by the approaching launch of some new peel apart film from a company who are clearly dedicated to keeping instant film in production as long as possible and I hope that between TIP and the
New 55 guys, something will come along for 4x5 at some point before I die.
