Read about this earlier today in another place, but it looks like Lomography have started selling 110 film.

Despite being a bit iffy about Lomography I'm very tempted to get some so I can use my Pentax Auto 110!

I'd need to get hold of a developing reel for 110, and there might need to be some jiggery-pokery to get it to scan in my scanner...

I wonder if this is any connection to what Adox were talking about doing some time ago?

I don't know. But you can always process the film using either the see-saw method or the spaghetti method.

I know Patterson made some reels for it. Saw one once at a camera show and left it on the table.

Looks like the Lomo folks are just throwing more sales opportunities for them at us.

It irks me when they say they "single-handedly" bring things back.

however, if this means more film use, then go for it!

Personally, I'm pretty proud of my Vivitar Opus20. Never tried it but it's got some surprising features like red-eye reduction flash and motor-drive! Very unusual for a 110 camera.

have you ever had anything shipped from them before? Its well packaged usually in slightly oversized boxes with lots of stuff to keep your purchase safe. And its usually expidited. I get my orders usually 2 days after making the order. 1 to process and package the order then ship next day to get to me.

As far as the price of the film Im sure it wasnt cheap to do a small run of 5000 units. If they were to mass produce the film im sure the price could go down. But i doubt it. Its a niche market.

Also keep in mind that lomography sends out TONS of discount codes and with their "piggie" program you can get quite a bit off on your orders. Granted, you have to be an active "lomographer" posting new pics and liking others all the time on their site.

Ive had orders where ive paid stupidly low compared to what the total would have been.

Not defending lomography 100% as i do believe they overcharge on some aspects of their cameras like the holga and diana, but everyone complains about the prices. Ive got 20% off vouchers before, and you can combine them with your piggies which i got for just making a lomography account. Works out to free shipping and some.

I've only bought a few things from Lomography (because I'm cheap), but really, it makes me very happy that someone is vigerously and successfully marketing film gimmicks to the kids. I mean, really -- 110 film? There was very little love for it even when it was mainstream. Yet Lomo' brings it back for a novelty. Good for them!

Frankly, Lomography has turned toy camera film phototography into a fashion/lifestyle statement, and that is a category that makes you pay.

Complaining about L's prices is like saying "You paid 800$ for those shoes? I could have found those at Goodwill if I spent every third day of my life looking".

Also, on one hand everyone cringes when they stopped producing 35mm movie cameras, but then when Lomo makes NEW cameras to sell to the kids, they get nothing but guff.

Reminds me a lot of the old punk rocker complaint about it not being cool anymore, now that everyone knows about it.

Never got into 110 cameras but I'm happy to see this happen. They are testing the waters to see how much will sell no doubt. I do have Minolta 16II cameras and like their cartridges because they are so easy to reload. The Minolta 16 cartridges were discontinued in 1992 if I remember right but I have collected up a dozen through the years and just loaded 5 rolls last night with Kodak Double-X 16mm negative film. Looking forward to getting the 16II off the shelf for some exercise, it's been about 2 years since I shot any 16mm film. I also like the 16II because you have full manual control over the exposure.

I must say, in defense of Lomo, that the staff at their Toronto store is pretty darn good when it comes to orders. I ordered only once from them and delivery was very fast and very well packaged. There was even a bonus item (freebie) that came with the order that was missing and they upgraded the item. Pretty nice.

Last time I tried the spaghetti method, I spent all my time retouching the oregano spots in Photoshop.

I found some on ebay a while back. You just need to keep a sharp eye out. I doubt you can modify an existing spool

Or if you have a spare reel, just cut it down and glue it to 16mm size and viola' a 110 reel!

I came across this company by accident the other day, who do 110 processing by mail order (in the UK): http://www.photofilmprocessing.co.uk/110filmprocessing.html

£4 for dev only, £8.50 with scanning or £10 with scanning plus prints. Could be worse. Note that I have not used them though so make no quality statements.

I probably have!! Apparently it's water proof to 5 metres. I'm hoping that's a depth of 5 metres and not 5 metres from the hotel reception. Now I just need to find some tropical waters.

When I was a kid my mum gave me few watches with 10 metres inscription, they would get soaked just by saying the word water!
