As much as I'm a fan of Nick Drake... I just can't resist Natalie Portman holding the Rolleiflex... ;)

What strikes me is that SLRs look really big (or the faces too small..  ::) )  and the same I could say about the leicas, so I assume that when I handheld my pentax 67...  :'(

Fascinating pictures, but Leonard Nimoy with a big smile just seem so... out of character.
And I am happily surprised to see Her Majesty is a Leica buff.   Didn't know GAS was that rampant.

Speaking of which, saw this the other day, Bridget Bardot with a Barnack.  (3rd from bottom)

I once had Colm Feore approach me and ask me about my leica when i was in a camera shop looking for film. He is a collector of M series leicas but said that if i ever wanted to sell my IIIa he would be the man to buy! It was for sure an interesting talk. He said he really loved Reala in his leicas, but apart from that i was still rather new and couldn't pick his brain more! There's my celebrity camera story. I didn't even know who he was. I was in the camera shop and everyone stopped dead. The person who i was buying the film off of asked me if i knew who he was. I don't get starstruck that often really.

It was a cool experience. I would have loved to go and see his collection now for sure

my two faves for sure. despite the strange excitement I get from the Natalie portman shot I think Nick Drake tips it. What a musician and what a camera, and just generally a great photo.

Debbie Harry could be holding a digital camera upside down and back-to-front and she'd still be my favourite!  ;)

I'm glad you said that, Nigel. If I'd said it, I'd be in such deep doo-doo with Mrs LD, it'd take me years to extracate myself..... ::)

read an article that Miles Davis bought the camera and use it with only what the exposure settings the seller handed him and never did try to change its settings.

Okay - so he was no sort of a photographer - but, IMO, he is still the King of Cool with an M3 round his neck...!!  :D
