next uk FW meetup location: Poll
« on: February 06, 2012, 01:23:10 PM »
I think that is all the options. Bear in mind that this is for a DAY TRIP (in the main) - weekends away etc are just not doable for most of us at the moment. Also bear in mind it is for early spring (End March/ Early April).

Once voted, please use the thread to say where you are NOT able to go to for a day trip.

Is there an echo in here?

Potentially, I could do any of them but the more distant ones I'd probably turn into a weekend.

No, it's just very much the same journey. Leon's is longer, but I probably hate driving more, so I guess one balances out the other.

I'm with Peter on this one.

This poll has been awesome  :D ;D

I look forward to reading the other comedy replies as they dribble in. I haven't voted because I would be happy to travel to several of the proposed locations, but then probably wouldn't get round to going after all. Sorry.

My better half gave me a birthday card a few years back which included the words - Long weekend away in a  'suprise location'.  It turned out to be Cromer, so, given I was blindfolded for the whole journey ;) and I've now learned that Cromer must be in South Wales - can we go to the North Norfolk Coast?  Its not really doable for me in a day - only the Peak District and the view from my window are - but I can see from the comments of the above tht most of you don't have passports to travel north of Watford (or is is Hatfield and the....) and so Norfolk would be a compromise I'd be willing to entertain.  I know all this is futile - it'll be within 50 miles of London without  doubt, but there, I've made my pitch....

Would be very happy to visit all these places, but of those listed only Norfolk and Suffolk would be within a sensible day's travel there and back in March/April for me.  Voted for Southwold on the basis that it's probably slightly less remote from most people than Cromer (which is only 30 minutes drive from me).

Mmmmm, there is my Avebury vote that should be Sussex!

Can that be changed? This is a tight vote after all!

Just voted for the Suffolk coast...

Can do Seven Sisters also but I got some of that in my viewfinder last year...

Even with adjustment for Phil's erroneous voting - Suffolk wins out.

Someone needs to volunteer to organise location/ date etc.

damn just missed out in voting, i would have voted derbyshire it being closest to me but nevermind, wouldn't have made any difference. Suffolk is just not an option for me, no car and too expensive on the train. have a nice day though all who attend.

actually Ken, you're not too wrong - but it's a little further north than Hell (Essex).

By that definition, I live in Hell (Braintree) just south of the border with North Hell (Suffolk). For once, I can get to the intended destination inside 2 hours.......!!
