introducing fluffy
« on: February 28, 2007, 01:07:27 PM »
I have been coveting a fluffy petticoat I saw months ago in a junque shop in Austin, but since I dont live there, it was not a step round the corner to fufill my wildest dreams. In anycase I bought one on ebay for about a third of the price ( and its rose colored!) And I have been dragging mads everywhere in that thing. So anyways, here are some excerps of my adventures with "fluffy"

these have been colorized but for the full non colorized ( hand printed and toned) version check out www.flickr.com/photos/lauraburlton the smeary bits were an accident, they do not show up on my pc screen but they show nicely on my mac. Funnily though most people say they like them, I am on the fence. My plan is to rescan later on when I am more awake....

Beautiful work, especially the first one, guessing you used marshall Oils,  do you generally tint the eyes as well.

Very beautiful, Laura.  The colors add something  very special here.

I'm also very JEALOUS because I cannot get my little girl to wear anything other than what she wants- jeans and tshirts, and it's been this way since she was 2.  I would have so much fun with stuff like this and they are only little once!  Just perfect. :)

I would like one of those fluffies.  I wonder if I can find one my size??? :)

Thanks you guys. Funny what inspires me.

Tammy, my 4 year old is VERY picky, she has been forever so she is not as easy to pin down. Fortunately my nine year old likes to have her photo taken and she likes to play dress up and actress. The good thing is the 4 year old likes to wear ballerina clothes so I am scouring ebay for the right outfit. She used to have a golden recital outfit that was a hand me down, she wore this until it was rags ( she still wears it if we cant keep it hidden from her).

Good news is  Ebay has tons! Everyone should have one :) just look up petticoat and you get pages and pages, funnily I narrowed to vintage and buy it now ( I had already fought and lost two so I was not in the mood)and then there was only this one and a green one. Personally I like the pink but maybe I should go for green too :)

AH!!!  mine is 4 as well.  They are something, these little ones! :)

I'll have to look around ebay.  I've had my mind on a few things too, and can't find in local shops!

Excellent work.  Again, I really do enjoy that handtinting.

Beautifully coloured shots Laura, I love the pink but was also quite partial to the yellow that I saw the other day, but didn't get a chance to reply on. My five year old is doing ballet and loves dressing up but trying to photograph her in her outfit is an exercise in frustration sometimes! Both my girls are usually willing models it's just a matter of getting them to stop in one place for long enough!
