I agree wholeheartedly with all the sentiments here, although I have a few big BUTs (!)
1. The lomographers do count for a fair amount of film usage, which is a good thing as far as we are concerned I think. Anything to support the film market is a good thing.
2. There are many here who would not have found film photography if it hadn't been for the Lomo Soc. I found the Holga through their website, and although I tend not to use it much these days, I do think that it gave me the impetus to look beyond basic record type photography and open up my vision to new ideas. It was for me like acid was for Timothy Leary
. But like most here, I soon saw through the lomo photo-wall of cool to see how much the hype outweighed the reality. Never-the-less, they did me a favour.
just a couple of thoughts - I don't like em, but I see their use. You won't catch me pulling the cord on a spinner in the near future though.
