Just a small exhibition but it is free  8)

A small display featuring portraits of children by Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-79), one of the most influential figures in early photography.

The images explore Cameron’s vision of childhood, in which children are sacred and the embodiment of innocence. She strove to establish photography as an art form, using soft focus and compositions inspired by Renaissance paintings, and incorporating the irregularities of early photographic processes in her pictures. In doing so, her portraits succeed in conveying the emotional and spiritual aura of the sitter.

Thanks, Suzy. You're an exhibition-spotting machine, innit! You're exactly what I need....I never know what's going on usually.

Just be aware that these are REPRODUCTIONS of JMC prints.
They are not her actual albumen prints.

This was not stated on any of the promotional materials.
I had planned a weekend in London to check out a few exhibitions. Had I been aware that these were reproductions, I would have spent the morning in White Cube looking at Jeff Wall prints, instead.

When the exhibition ends, the exhibited prints will probably be up for sale in the gift shop for £20 each :D
