Ed- this photo is magical!
The light, the fallen leaves, perfect!

Dialing in to a bit darker setting gave this one a nice early evening "mood" to it.

Like!   :)

Just got back from a 1000km drive into the middle of nowhere. Hours of hiking, climbing, fording rivers, cursing rain, but enjoying the fog...

all for one or two shots:

all for one or two shots:

....wow, that first one is fantastic. I love the stillness, the crispness; I can feel the chilly air and hear the water. I love the black black of the tree branches and the blurry building in the background. The Weekend Thread Daddy does it again.

And yep, me jealous too.

Very nice Skorj. REally nice colour. And is that a well in the middle of a room in the second shot?

BTW - how's Movember going for you? I gave up after a week havin been enlightened that it is still possible for a 40 year old man to grow teenage bumfluff  - oh well, I'm destined to never sport facial hair.

Movember is a really big thing here at uni, they are having movember moustache parties in the clubs, just ends up looking like village people conventions...

Leon, can I be in your club?

Patchy, frustrating growth! I did manage a kind of moustache once, but, it was very embarassing!

Here's a chair I photographed at the Cwmyoy church earlier in the year and have just got round to scanning. The film was Rollei Retro 400. It was taken with my Pentax LX.

Movember is going OK. Though, I am looking forward to December! The location was an old hydro power station and that is the main turbine hall. The hole is the turbine mount. The buildings are in the middle of nowhere, and still wear their WW2 camo paint.

I think that last picture is amazing Skj - the drab greyness of everything other than the autumn leaves on that Acer.

Wow! That second, it is stunning!

A Skorj masterpiece.  That bit of autumn color really lets the building tell a story.

My favorite Skorj photo for 2011.    :)

Is there any chance that a picture of that might be lying somewhere?  ;D

I can already imagine Officer Phil looking either like in a Sherlock Holmes movie or like in one of those 70's cop shows...

How did 'moustache' and Renault 4 come up in one and the same thread?

Oh well, it was 1976 and I was listening to a lot of Grateful Dead.   ::)

François, there are photos. I was using moustache wax at one stage! I will try and find the negatives, although, Jan may have buried them in a lead lined box to avoid embarrassment!

Sandeha, that photo is just classic!

François, let's just say it was a difficult time!

I will try and track down the negatives over the weekend.  Although, I can't believe I am even contemplating it!

My Dad's '71 model was duck egg blue too.  I used to sleep on the back shelf.

Off to hunt through the parents negs.

...and then when you were too big for the shelf, they finally let you into the house.

Becky, thanks a lot. I really like it too. I saw a great Minor White which Gary Moyer posted on Twitter today, "When gifts are given to me through my camera, I accept them graciously." and I think this is the case here. I was trailing behind the kids as they whizzed home and I saw a potential shot coming together nicely. So, still walking, I whipped out the Land Cam and went through all the machinations of flipping up the viewfinder, extending the lens, checking the expsoure setting etc. Then framed the shot and squeezed the uncocked trigger. Gah! The moment passed; Bresson was tutting at me and wagging his finger in disapproval. I decided to take a shot anyway, so I cocked the shutter and took the photo....which turned out pretty good despite my stupidity.

Minor White had it right.
 ;D ;D
