Neeew w/e September 9th
« on: September 09, 2011, 02:32:59 AM »
Oook, it seems that this week I am the early morning bird!

Eager to see other's shots. Meanwhile two portraits (as usual) from summer time; this was my last roll to develop from Spain. Rolleiflex 2.8E and Kodak Tmax 400, developed with Kodak D76, 7.14s developing time at 29 degrees Celsius, one slow inversion every minute, yes, home is hot.

Steven.

Miles- I'm not sure I've EVER seen a car that shiny!  Holy smokes that's a lot of shine!

Phil- saw this one on your blog and it made me homesick for Texas.
Carlos- your shots are always so personal and appealing.
SnP- That first one is really nice, that little Olympus is a keeper!

Calibsu, Love both portraits, very informal.

SprayNPray, 1st on reminds me of a shopping arcade in Birmingham, The Great Weston Arcade.  Used to have a decent camera shop but sadly no more.

Astrobeck.  Great Image, Love the duck!

Jeff, Love this set, the 2nd & last particularly.  So engrossed with their play.

Twe from me. 1st from a trip to Evesham and the 2nd my niece.  Love taking pictures of her she has some wonderful expressions.

Such a great mixture already.  Personal favourites are calibsu's portraits, Miles' cars, and Jeff's beach shots (especially the last). Also Diane's old house photo - lovely colours and atmosphere. Still scanning negatives from a recent walking trip to the Peak District. All TMax400 with Bessa R2 and 15mm lens.

Thanks very much Leon, I appreciate it.  I have several rolls of images from the YashicaMat (not the best chasing-kids-beach-camera I'm afraid    ;) ) but I must find a way to scan the negs.  My photo pro charges too much for scans so I have some homework to do.  Hopefully by next weekend I'll have something.

Cheers,

Jeff

Gee, there's an impressive level of variety in these posts.  And I do like a good bucket shot ...  ;D

This time out, from last weekend.  A little Fujica Drive half-frame from 1964 came out on a long walk around Cardiff with some photo buddies.  Strange machine, really - maybe no more than 1/2 a decibel for the shutter itself, and maybe 30dBs each time it winds on.  Superia 200.  I'd restored this baby after it was retrieved from a garden shed where it had (apparently) spent most of the past ten years.

Took many months of occasional Ronsonol drip feeds, but it eventually got cracking again.

Probably qualifies as a glove box camera.  :D

What an assortment of excellence again this week.

My attention was taken by a house proud habitat and some rusty railway wheels on a river bank.

As expected, some fabulous shots again this week(end). My particular favourites so far are Grey Fish's Moorland and Stones. These were taken not that far from my home town of Stockport in a part of the world I used to frequent often. The photos are beautiful.

My efforts this week are part of a little mini project and are taken in and around the "village" of Jaywick, just to the west of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. I don't feel it would be right to comment much about the place as, although it wouldn't occur to me to want to live there, the people we met and spoke to were genuinely welcoming.

The shots were taken on a Nikon F2S / Nikkor 20mm f3.5 Ai UD using Ilford HP5+

A few weeks ago I took a spin out with my brother where we live, it was a lovely day
so i decided to use some colour!

the first was taken about 300 yards from my brothers house. I changed the lens to
a 55mm with a yellow filter attached and kept shooting for the full roll - totally forgot
I was using Colour, im so used to using B+W. dev'd this during the week.

I kinda like them tho' ?

Miles - I really like the perspective on the middle shot.  The car looks mean - as if it's about to pounce on me and steal my lunch money.

Vicky - A brand new Jag? Definitely an occasion worth photographing - great colour.  Same for the toms. great stuff.

This week, so far, mi favourite is Soap´s second one with the Shoe... mmhh.  It has a surrealistic air, like a painting, the shoes pointing dow make it for me!

Also Miles second car shot from Havana, love the classy mood and neat composition.
Sandeha, that is from BArcelona´s Macba!
Greay Fish; great stone shots!!
Becky, thanks for your kind words! That really looks like a place to spend some time!!

I have been catching up with scanning this weekend - some images captured in Namibia a few years ago!
Dead tree shot with Hasselblad SWC, and mountains with a 500CM and 500mm lens.
Film was Kodak 100 T-Max developed in HC110.

Happy- your niece is a doll!  Can I borrow her?
Miller- love the car, I would be stalking it too!
Alan- the filter added a wonderful golden colour, it reminds me so much of fall around here.
Vicky- I've missed you, and want to steal those tomatoes...yum!

Great shots all around.  Just wish we could all hang out together for an afternoon and waste some major film!  :)  But that's kinda what we do here. :)

This week, I went around and found a few odd store signage combinations... not the type of things you'd expect to see in the same mall... I don't think you need to read French really well to get it :)
It also gave me a chance to use that old roll of Agfa APX 100 I'd been hauling around since 1997...

I also visited an abandoned flea market that is planned for demolition... very icky in there...

I like the juxtaposition of 'hotdog' and 'la belle province'.  The epic and the mundane side by side.

But this weekend's mix is jaw-droppingly fun to peruse.  The bar is being raised...

Hey gang...I have really enjoyed (as opposed to "I'm loving") this week's output; so thanks for lifting my spirits with your awesome work. Fans of the first Kung Fu Panda movie will know that there is no charge for awesomeness. Even better.

What a talented bunch you are. A few more statues and graveyards and I'd be in heaven  ;) I'm posting a photo I took today (yes, today) and have thus compressed my standard workflow down from 6 months from shutter release to completed print/scan to about 6 hours. Yay me  ;D

Amy took a moment out from going crazy in the fountains outside City Hall at the Thames Festival today to pose for me 'in the formal style'. The sun came out at the right moment and suddenly she was apart from the movement and noise in the background. This one appeals to me on many levels.
