A couple of Nottingham ones from me.

Lunch at the cinema restaurant (I think this was handheld at about 1/4 second) and then a pair of shoes dangling from a telephone line about 50 feet up in the air!

I don't know if it's the same in the UK but here in Canada, a pair of sneakers dangling from a telephone wire in the middle of the street is usually the limit marking for gang territories...

Every week I am eager to see what will be posted in the weekend thread; every week I'm impressed by the quality of the work; every week I tell myself to get off my dead arse and create a Flickr account, or some other venue, where I can post my own work and then share it here; every week slides by and I don't get it done; and finally, every week I look at Phil Bebbington's work with great admiration. I've been trying to figure out his relationship to Texas, to the US, to the time he spends finding all the visual nuggets he does, since I believe he originates from England and its environs. It doesn't matter, as long as he continues to share his wonderful imagery with all of us. I mean no disrespect to any of the other filmwasters who also continue to dazzle and amaze with their artistry; but there is just a certain "something" that consistently rings my bell when viewing Mr. Bebbington's work.

But then, I also love Moominsean's stuff, both here and at TC.com. And Jeff Warden's pieces from South Philly, and Andrea's, and Vicky's, and...

Well, you know...

Thanks very much, Chops. Yes I have more from the past few weeks of experimenting (I've shot four rolls of Portra now) but I'm trying to reserve the best ones for the weekend posts, and I don't think the others are as nice. I don't want to be the reason the wheat to chaff ratio on this fine forum goes all cattywompus.

I decided to give myself ten rolls of experience with the Portras before deciding if it would be a regular film for me (five of 160 and five of 400) but already I'm sold. If I'm shooting color, it will be this from now on.

I'm still getting some green in the scans that needs to be adjusted, but it's usually minor and I'm getting better at spotting it. I'm also trying to control saturation, which is less easy, and more about me than the film probably. There is always the temptation to tweak the saturation or vibrance sliders, and I think I'm overdoing it. The manequin in the morning Sun, for instance, now looks more colorful than I remember the scene. With practice it'll get better I guess.

The second image in your set is fantastic Lino, those colors, even the floor.

I'm flattered that anyone would see a little Eggleston in my pictures. I am an Eggleston fan, and it sounds like I'm taking him with me on my walks. If you haven't seen the new book of his work "William Eggleston For Now" it's really fine. The print quality and colors are excellent and the mostly vintage work (pictures of family and friends for the most part) is fresh, even today.

The camera is for scale.

Hoorah for the weekend! More inspiring stuff from everyone. Andrea, what a start, wonderfully evocative. Love the colour work too: Jeff - really nice trio, Lino - like the retro feel of the second. Lovely images everybody!!! Andreas road, Vicky's path, Phils blue skies, Sapatas boat, Seans gas station, Damion's hillside cuddle, J's last shot, Lino's balloons, Greyfishs steps, Daves arches and Diane peaches and corn are the standouts for me.

Here is mine. My first all around successful gum bichromate print. Only two layers but the color and registration came out perfectly. I so love this process. Im using old negatives now but Im looking forward to shooting afresh with this process in mind. I think I'll shoot a whole new series of tortured oaks this winter with the either the Brony or the Graflex and then make gum prints outta the negs. I am SO looking forward to that. Oh yeah, and I should mention the original shot was made on the now extinct Neopan 1600. Im afraid to shoot my last roll.

I'm genuinely struggling to find favourites amongst this week(end)'s thread. Andrea, Vicky, Damion and ChopperT's submissions are just fantastic. Chris N and Windy's posts are equally as good. What the heck, another classy set of photos.

Mine aren't of the Ridgeway (as I'd hoped) as the E6 processing is taking a bit longer to sort as I've been in Manchester most of this week (yippee, love being back home, up north) and I've only just handed the film over to the lab.

This week's efforts are a week or two old and date from the walk some of our intrepid FW's did around the galleries of London. I took some shots in Liverpool Street station (where Lara and I had breakfast) before heading over to St Pancras' station - our meeting point. The last shot was taken in Starbucks on the way home. Complete fluke - hit the shutter by accident, loads of blur, but I quite like it...

NB - yes, those are the Olympic rings at St Pancras' station. There's a distinct possibility that the venues will be finished ahead of schedule and within budget. Nevertheless, we've booked as holiday the fortnight that the Olympics is being held as we have no intention of having to commute down the East Anglian main line (through Stratford) every day whilst that lot is going on.

vicky: liking the muted colours! I'm almost thinking about rereversing that roll of fuji 160 I meant for redscale

choppert: liking the second. the wire with the shoes along with the trail in the sky really ties the shot together for me
mojave: thise yashica 635 shots are looking nice! but I see you might have the same problem as I have with the R labeled thingie on the left side of the camera entering the frame?
sean: liking the blues~ specially accompanied with the vw bubble!
damion: I'm impressed! very good connection in those people shots

windy: nice play with shadows. the bag makes the shot for me~
dave: such detail! it's like I feel all those faces looking at me

diana: sure looks like an old shot with that camera

chris: really liking the focus in that dog shot. the blur is so creamy smooth too!
LD: that starbucks shot just makes me.. glad. that's some good blur right there

harvey: very abstract! I could totally see that huge and hanging on a wall

both shot with minolta srt-101 55mm 1.7 rokkor-pf, ilford hp5 developed in caffenol-c-m
edit: no, wait! forgot I just bought that 35mm 2.8 rokkor-hg and used it for that espresso shot. I'm thinking it might end up as my new normal on that camera. 55mm feels like tele for me

I didn't noticed that at all... I guess the knob needs to be pulled when using 120 film though... I'm assuming this won't make difference when shooting on 35mm
