I just found this on another site.
So if you want to know why a Summicron is so expensive, here's the answer :)

Pretty far from making a Russian Industrar lens...

That amount of attention and detail is a thing of beauty in itself. Leica lenses are also pretty far away from the price of the Industrars......

they forgot to include the robustness test where the factory workers bash the lens repeatedly into there temples to try and blott out that evil music. if the lens breaks before the worker is dead then its discarded.

You mean they actually play oompah music in the factory while they assemble the lenses?  ;D
