Let the weekend begin 16th June till it stops
« on: June 16, 2011, 02:54:37 PM »
Playing with Polypan-f and Lith on old paper.

The series is; Whatever it is,,,,, it's overrated. Distilling the essence of Stornoway. I always like a snappy title :-)

1 sec exposures using Petri7s, polypanf, rodinal, AgfaMCC-fb, Paterson-warmtone-RC, Rollei-Creative.

Not sure I'm cut out for surreptitious shots from the hip!?

A rather run-down house near a train station in Nottingham.  I think it had an upstairs too!

Andrea, whatever that be is really cool

Las weekend I went to Taiwan with my... new camera. Yes, my promise not to buy a camera anymare was obviously broken. And of course I gave myself many good reasons to buy it. Its a Rolleiflex 2.8E. Previous owner did not treat very gently I am afraid, but it has been recently serviced and it work just fine!! And the best part is that it weights half of my Pentax 67!! And that I can shoot at 1/8!! Well, still is me that makes the shots, that has not changed  :'(  So three shots from Chian Kai Shek memorial ground.

The first shot is scanned as a document

Can I get lessons?

Calibisu-good score on the camera!  Looks like it might be your favorite now!

Becky and Sapata, the rollei is a fantastic camera, love many things about it, as said it's shutter is quiet and with no vibration, camerA is light with a really sharp lens, and also like the fact that the lens is single coated. When I was in Hong Kong month ago I was in the tram and saw somebody walking with a rollei... That was it!! The best part is that now i will take it with me most of the time. The Pentax 67 being a fantastic camera is too heavy and too many times I would not bring it with me because of it.. Ok I wrote too much :'(

Erin, I go for your second one. You are a softness addict!!!  ;D ;D

Same previous shot just to show how different looks when differently scanned, one scanned reflective and the other one as transparency. The reflective one looks to me as a toycamera.. so no need to buy a toycamera! (one camera less)  8)

after my 180 died (I think Sean was able to resurrect it) I shot with a Land 250 for awhile but it just wasn't 'there' for me so I had a 250 modified with a prontor shutter and rodenstock glass.  It's sweet and am nicely surprised at how nicely it picks up the middle gray tones on fuji and 664.

This, 665 that's a tad too perfect of a neg - washes too clean as per my usual drippy and scarred 665 negs.  Nonetheless, there's some things going on that I like about the shot: one from a small series  I've been working on and off on for awhile.....

The second, I was able to much around in the darkroom for awhile on Saturday...

Scan of print, Delta 400, probably oeverexposed by at least 1 stop by my $6.99 thrift store Canon waterproof P&S.  Seems to have put a few faint scratches top right - maybe you really do get what you pay for ;)
Taken near Anguilla in April but only printed an hour ago.

Lawrie, that´s beautiful. PInhole is really in my ¨must do¨things list.

Two more from Taiwan, this in the Alishan Mountains, 2.000 meters, so it was deliciously cool. I did not take many pictures at the forest. But when we were leaving I saw that glowing tree in front of me, with rising fog all around. It was beautiful!! I asked Elena to please indulge for a couple of shots so she was kind enough and walked away with little Alma, wich you can see fading at the distance  ;D

No Andrea, I scan my paper negs and print them digitally. This is a square crop of the 8x10.

Nice work, Miller. I made a pinhole out of the body cap of my GooSE which seemed to work okay once I managed to shut all the light out from around the edges. Is your made in a similar way?

The usual eclectic and wonderful photos I've come to expect to see each weekend. Nice work everyone...

Mine are from a 120 roll of Fuji Reala taken a while back that I found last week. The film had been processed but the idiot who'd processed it didn't have any neg holders and, subsequently, rolled the film up into a nice coil, wrapped it in see-thru plastic and taped it shut.

I unwound the film, cut it to length (to scan) and put the strips between some heavy books for a week. Today, I decided to scan the film. I removed the books and, instantly, the film re-coiled itself. So, I've had a swine of a job to get the film into the neg carrier to be scanned and I simply can't be bothered to dust and clean them. I need a drink.

This is as near "wasted" film as I've come for a very long time and I won't be having any more processed by anyone who cannot confirm (on pain of death) that my negatives will be dried flat and put, in strips of 3, into proper negative sleeves before being handed back to me. Film is too expensive and precious to "waste".

Two of the shots were an overall brown and green ensemble, so I converted them to mono (sepia) as they look much better that way.

So much to love here!

Phil- I know that old Drive Inn, and it's very sad to see it in shambles.

One from me....I've been dinking with lumen printing on old expired Ilford RC paper and some lunar shots I made with my Nikon F2 then enlarged and made transparencies of.
This one was made late last week with about 4 hours of direct sunlight....

Wow, a lot has happened in a day and a half! Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. I love all the new editions!

Sapata, that sunny 16 is working great! I love your street shots and the exposure is spot on!
Thil, Nice catch!
Phil, that is just the most amazing color! And I like how the poor dead plant mimics the poor dead drive in.
Carlos, thats amazing! I never would have guessed those images came from the same neg.
Gregor, wonderful work! The second is my fav!
Dave, your shot makes me miss sailing a lot.  :'( ;D
Lawrie, gorgeous pinhole!
Miller, you two! I believe I remember your first test shot from the pinhole Goose. Were they shots where you said you were concerned about shooting into the sun?
Jerry, great mystery in that first shot!
Thom, Im diggin' that TIP color!
LD, great texture in all but the color in that first shot just knocks my sox off!
Becky, I love, Love, LOVE that moon shot!!
HS, is this part of a new series? It already has mystery to it.

Got some shots at the Santa Monica pier yesterday. Took forever just to find a parking spot, and when I did find one, they only took cash, so I had to leave, get cash, and go back, and never did find the spot again and instead had to park in a 2 hour limit lot. But, I got some shots so it was worth it. This is TIP color film. Shot taken of boats strapped to pylons under the pier. It was kinda creepy down there. It was dark and the sound of the rides on the pier was spooky. Fun times!

Mojave, nice pic.

This is a portrait of a friend and a promo shot for his new record.  Not a new series though I think I'll do some night portraits.
