This thing is simply brilliant!

Here's a big part of my statement ;)
Quote
My work explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and urban spaces.

With influences as diverse as Munch and Andy Warhol, new synergies are created from both explicit and implicit textures.

Ever since I was a student I have been fascinated by the traditional understanding of meaning. What starts out as hope soon becomes debased into a cacophony of lust, leaving only a sense of chaos and the chance of a new understanding.

As spatial impressions become transformed through emergent and personal practice, the viewer is left with a glimpse of the inaccuracies of our world.

First click results are the best as usual :)

Yep, this is perfect. I read somewhere that a guy in Australia had out up a website which was a random generator of post-modernist essays (post-modernism essays?). Great stuff.

That is just awesome!!! I like the responses if you keep clicking that button. Too funny.

I have to write a great many artist statements, as Im sure most everybody else here has, and every time I have to do it, I have to start from scratch, as if I'd never written one before. I can never remember how to write them so I always do google searches to find examples and this website is the one I always find. I love it. Funny with great examples of what not to do, IMHO.

they did indeed - it's the pomo generator.  I was introduced to it when we covered Pomo critical law at college. It is Pomo on just about every level there is (mind you, there are no more levels anymore, levels dont exist).

Like all great p*ss-takes, it is so close to the truth to be almost impossible to be differentiated from the truth. This is 24 carat, grade-A, pure bull-shit-eze to the extent that I am certain that any gallery administrator would fall for it - despite the utter, utter meaninglessness of the statements themselves.

It could, almost, be a Con-Dem manifesto generator......well, maybe that's stretching it a bit too far..... ;)

One of the reasons I've never set up a website or shown my work is because I fear the artist statement, the bio, or anything "about me".  But NOW!  Well heck, a whole new world has opened up for me!!

Hahaha! Hilarious! Thanks for the video and the generator. My diaphragm is still having cramps from laughter.
