Errr... how do I explain this?

Do I say, 'I woke up and they were there'?

Errr... 'They followed me home'?

Or how about the truth, 'I could not resist, a studio in Omotesando was letting all their proofing tools going for a song'?

I am keeping one, not the nicest looking, but the one with the brightest RF spot, two backs, a 127mm and a 150mm, all I need is a 75mm and I can start that secret project I've been thinking about.

Goddamn too if these kittens do not cough up the highest definition prints I've ever seen. Stuffed full of Fuji film, they rival Leon's work (OK, exaggeration but close)...

My god! Best try not to explain it...just hide them! If I came home with these to add to my big pile of cameras my wife would probably attempt to remove part of my anatomy that I would rather hang on to!  :o

Super sexy kit though.

Of course they are sharp puppies. They're entirely built by Mamiya around their Universal Press camera. It's essentially the same optics and body with a different bayonet mount. Too bad you can't just use the standard Mamiya accessories with them...
The optics are superb and tack sharp, even on film with the Mamiya Press (which has been on my wish list for quite some time now).

They're also surprisingly heavy beasts...
The Mamiya model does 6x9 (8 pictures on 120) and you must advance the film and cock the shutter separately.

I think you got a great deal there...

LOL Skorj, I just stumbled on this post. When you told me you had finally snagged a 600SE I thought you meant you had found 1!! I should have known better. You know what they say, nothing exceeds like excess! Good on you! You are right about the sharp reults, I love mine. Now - have you chased up a 120 back/adapter set-up for this yet? (I have faith that you will, you never cease to amaze me)

Bl**dy hell, mark. You kept this a secret....or maybe you told me and I forgot? Doubt it. WHAT a haul. I have a load of Type 55, 51, 57 and 54 film here just waiting to be used. How about I trade you one of the cams for a year's supply of Tate & Lyle? Run this one by Vicky and see what she says.
