Advice sought - which pic?
« on: March 29, 2011, 09:17:20 PM »
I could use any of the three in my project, but each one would fit in a different place and change the order of all the other pics.  Which is the most intriguing to you (if any)?

I cant say which is most intriguing because I like them all, but what I can tell you is the gut reaction I get from each.

The first one reads anxious to me. A little fearful, a little excited.

The second one reads self confident but a little sad or lost in thought or melancholy.

The last one reads scary to me. Ghostly scary. The lines outside the car are all wavy and there is little definition in her face and together those two things make me feel as if Im looking at somebody who might not really be in this world.

I am so intrigued by this series you're setting up. The little glimpses of it here and there have really peaked my curiosity and I sure hope to get to see the whole series when its finished.

Third one.

It's meditative- or maybe dreaming underwater in a very relaxed state of being.

I like it the best.

am anxious to see the series completed eventually....

1st - Great, lights through the window enhance it too.

2nd - Very nice, window blur and attractive, but other than that it doesn't "say" so much to me.

3rd - Disturbing, and unsettling.  Too much so for me.

Number One for me.

1st and 3rd doesn't really speak to me.

I really like the 2nd picture, the blur on the window and that tiny bit of light on her face is just perfect...

2nd for me. That kind of blur on her face (1 and 3) does not appeal to me  :o

Number 2 is a pretty "straight" shot insofar as you can see the situation and expression quite clearly. For "intrigue" the 3rd shot is the one for me.

Scrolled down at speed and in the order posted is how I rate 'em....

Not one for studying pictures... More a hit & run kind of viewer...

Basically, as I went down I was less intrigued/interested...

Does that sound harsh...? Considering I feel I know this girl in a subject context, I saw her anew in the first shot... A pensive look is not easy to get from a subject...

2nd one. The blur only works for me when seen as a set of 3, there is a story there - looking back (blur something left behind), the present (no blur), and the future (blur uncertain). AS a standalone image, #2

Thank you everyone.  This has been interesting and most helpful.

For the series, I'm going with #2 -- it'll be the first pic in the series.

for intruige maybe number 1 'cos the girl almost looks worried, leads me to wonder what she's seen. but number 2 is beautiful, the highlights on the coat, and the motion blur outside the vehicle. brilliant

I like number two, the blur suggesting movement and the way the light hits the coat just make it feel more balanced-IMHO

I see your dillema, they're all really interesting.  For some reason i like the 1st a little better than the others though.  Tough to say out of context which wold be "best" fpr your project though.

Good luck.
