The problem is, he gets all the technical stuff arse-about-face:

First he says the film is much slower than 100 ISO - 1/500 ISO in fact.  So this would make it so slow it would be virtually unusable - especially in a pinhole!  but then he implies that this means they need a really fast shutter ... but of course they wouldn't as the film is really slow, not really fast.

Then there is all the pixel stuff, when has that ever had anything to do with film resolution?

Nice attempt, but could try harder. B Minus.

Yeah, but he gets a capital E for Effort because wow, what an elaborate hoax. He even has his own website. I wonder what the gotcha will be for actually signing up to be a field tester.

Might be kind of fun. Im sure there has to be some kind of gotcha. I just hope it wouldnt be anything seriously career damaging. You know, like a full article in Time magazine, the cover of which read something along the lines "Desperate analog photographers grasping for straws fall hard for invisible camera hoax."

Just thought of something else. Trying this camera and its revolutionary new film out could put an entirely new spin on the whole film wasting idea.  ;D

Oh, this is just funny. They are saying that they expect us to return the film and not develop it ourselves. I bet this has something to do with the gotcha. They will create bogus images and say they were our exposures or something. What a hoot! I wonder if all the pictures will come out to be of aliens or something. HAHAHA!!!

... so wait... so people CAN see that I'm in my skivvies when holding this camera?? Uh-oh! ;))

Somehow, I feel uneasy about the original video.
As much as I would like to believe this to be true, I have a hard time finding evidence it could work. If it does, it could be some Nobel winning stuff. It would mean that the film is coated with a nano engineered product which lets all wavelength get through to the film yet protect it from light coming from all sides...
This could be done using polarization... which would make the camera partially opaque.
It could also be done by having sideways grown t-grain...
Or having a membrane of straw like tubes long enough to act as a shade on the film...
Or desensitizing the film so it is only sensitive to coherent light... but that would mean exposing with a laser...

Too bad the site doesn't show a video of the taking and processing of a print in one long take...

I still think it's a April fool's joke, but I have been wondering:

How to make a grain of silver nitrate distinguish between a photon
coming from one direction vs another????

If indeed this could be done, then we could well be on our way.......

I'm sure there is advanced technology out there in the universe somewhere where this might be commonplace.

And if this is truly a joke, then they really pulled all the stops to make it appear valid.  There is a Sebastien Fray at the Plank Institute, and he does work with quantum optics.

Well... I for one am slightly bummed out. Even though I didn't believe in it, I really would have liked to see something like this work.

Well, it took me long enough to get over the shock of the Tooth Fairy not being real. This ranks up there - I'm glad that I read the news sat down with a gin in my hand,
