Weekend Thread 18th FEB
« on: February 18, 2011, 01:18:04 AM »
Well... it's friday and I finally have some photos to start the weekend thread :o

More of the well expired Ilford... wonder if a memory card would last 47 years !

Sarlat, France -  (hello "Foodwasters" people...) famous for the Foie Gras and Truffles.

Finally got my scans back.
Some snaps from Argentina. The camera was an oympus xa. The film was either ektar or portra 160 vc.

messing about with a yashica-mat and red filter. also growing pains with hc-110 and completely misreading the developing charts...so underexposed and underdeveloped! still kinda cool, though.

SEan, just like it this way!

And in the Philippines they say: When a Filipinos house catches fire, he first rescues his gamecock, then his wife, and then his kid

And nop, did not see blades... they were just coaching and selling them not serious fight though.  ::)

Blaxton:  I didn't mean to frighten anyone!  Actually it was a fine warm evening and the shop had its door propped open...a hint of spring on its way.  I guess that face in the murk there is a bit scary though.

I especially like the second dog photo...

Phil that's a great picture. But totally unexpected from you!

I'm finally getting back into scanning. This is the only usable image shot with my FED-2 and the Industar-22 collapsible lens. Probably because the lens is totally scratched and also slightly moldy.

Hello Filmwasters, thought I would jump straight in with my first post.  Took this in Ronda, Spain while a little drunk on a recent trip with the haphazard Lomo and HP5.

sapata - you're getting surprising tones from that old Ilford!  And those beachy holga shots make me giddy!

Phil - that 'pink and green' number absolutely makes me swoon!

Sean - accidental film noir is a good thing, I particularly love the 1st one and that 2nd one reminds me of the way they used to shoot movies in the 50s to simulate moonlight!!

Terry - beautiful tree reflections in that 2nd shot - I love the ambiance!

Al - the kids throwing rocks - lovely.

Warren_M - a runaway bull!  :)

It's the weekend -  it's cold and raining so I decided to dredge my old negative files. Going back some twenty five years or so, I decided to scan some real oldies. Grainy, dirty and scratched - but hey, what the heck, it was a nostalgic journey!

Calbisu, I really love the look of your camera and the way you expose film.
Sean, I really like the first one. Very dark and low-key at the same time the grays are nice too.
Al, Your second picture is awesome. Love the framing of the flowers. That vivitar looks nice.
Hookstrapped, like Phil said, the second one is great. Great light and great model.

I have not been shooting lately at all :( so I'm back to stuff I shot 3 months ago.

Cosina CX-2 (the "original" LC-A) which I picked up at a local charity shop in London for I think 7 quid. Film is cheap Digi3 (rebranded Agfa). The lady in the first picture is Ava Gardner.

Afew shots taken with my Rollei TLR in France.

I can't decide between the first 2 shots... I think I prefer the 2nd but the leg of the wardrobe got chopped because I couldn't go anymore further with the camera...
