Fuji peel apart, can you overdevelop it?
« on: February 15, 2011, 08:02:01 PM »
All right. I've been fussing with some fuji peel apart film (fp100c). And a doubt popped in my mind:

I know that if i don't let the film develop for long enough, i will get an underexposed image. But If I let the film develop over the recomended time will this "push" the film?

The fuji datasheet says that you aren't suposed to do this, but i've read somewhere here about people shooting and peeling the film at home. So...

It will self terminate (no pushing as such) but with the b/w I find that anything over an hour without peeling will leave a residue on the image. After a few hours you are likely to have to wash it.

Colour film does not appear to have this issue as far as I have dealt with it...

Lino, my terminology may be wrong, but, Fuji FP100C self terminate - 90 seconds or  90 minutes are the same, you can't over expose it.

Yep, pop it in your bag and peel at home over a long cold one.

The only way of overdeveloping it (since it's what we're talking about here) I can see would be to subject the "envelope" to a much higher than normal temperatures for the time of development... Toaster oven anyone :)

I call it playing the evil mad scientist who uses the powers granted to him by a mysteriously powerful machine powered by some alien technology to implant strange ideas into the mind of unsuspecting internet users ;)

(I just learned why all evil mad scientist rub their hands like Mr. Burns! They all are addicted to hand sanitizer  ;D )

hmm maybe a microwave?
those waves must do something to the film. or not?

probably not since microwaves need water to produce heat. Metal just produces arcing.
