Here's a great little film showing Jennifer Trausch shooting the ridiculously large 20 x 24 Polaroid camera.

a great piece!
I love what she said at the end about 'understanding the camera yet it still has it's dark moody moments'.
Thanks so much!

Woah...!! Nice caera and beautiful photos. I presume The Impossible Project doesn't produce the film for that baby
Well, as it's released under the Focus-on-Imaging banner, I presume she'll be there 6th-9th March. I'm there on the 7th (with Mrs LD) so I really must check this camera out. I can't wait to see my wife's face when I tell her I want one....

Actually LD, I think they do. Or at least have once. I think thats the camera they used for one of their recent openings. All I know is the images were huge, just like the ones this photog made, and the camera was huge, just like this one.

The 20 x 24 pola. I linked to that back in December on the holiday wish list ;-D They had a holiday portrait special for 1200 USD a day and I believe 6 shots total. Apparently they have roughly 2 years of film left based on current usage of the film.
A lot of work has been done with that cam - Mary Ellen Mark's twins series, Julian Schnabel has a book of work published of his work with it and sooooo many big names have taken a crack at it.

Actually that's her point-and-shoot. She keeps her big camera at home.

I don't know why but when I talked about building one to satisfy my gear envy, everyone at home gave me a big no-no

I wonder if while setting a scene, some guy has ever walked up along side here, taken a picture of what she was aiming it at, chimped, and then said
"See how much easier that is?."
Then gave a smirk while walking away.

Wonderful !
That reminded me another amazing photographer that uses the same camera but the results are slightly different.

I must say I love those images much better than those of a Montreal photographer who also uses big Polaroids... his name'
Evergon
. And if you google him, you'll quickly realize that the material he produces is absolutely not safe for work... though is website is pretty tame compared to some of
the other stuff
he makes...

Needing a truck and dolly to lug your camera about certainly raises the commitment level. While I've never seen one of the 20x24 cameras, there was a processor available for sale here in Japan a short time ago - I think it went unsold at just over \120,000. Thanks! Skj.
