Selling stuff on here

My immediate, naive and uninformed opinion in regard to even a commercial forum would be:

Regular contributors who have one or two bits of kit they want to move and would prefer it go to a "family" member - acceptable

If you have commercial quantities of kit and aren't interested in contributing to the regular forum - acceptable, however please exit through the gift shop and leave a financial contribution to help support the site.

Like I said. naive and uniformed but this is how I feel.

Ed and Leon edit this if needed, cheers Ken

The plus side of regulars offloading gear to other regulars is both parties are familiar w/each other and the exchange has a greater degree of trust and integrity to the gear than buying of an auction site or classified ads site.

But in the spirit of the site, the main focus is on sharing work, ideas, techniques, etc.  Cluttering the main forum with for sale posts detracts from that...

Perhaps a sub suction like the "Articles" section would suffice if the admins feel the effort is worth it.
