Return of AGFA APX Film
« on: January 10, 2011, 01:08:06 PM »
Not sure how many of you good peeps read the UK "Black and White" magazine. Okay there's way too much digital stuff in there but I digress......

The current edition (Jan 2011) is running an advertorial from Silverprint that Agfa's APX 100 film will be making a welcome return "soon".

Having just checked the Silverprint website, it's in stock now. There's only 35mm / 100 ISO version available so far, but 35mm / 400 ISO should be out in February and 120 versions later in 2011. 5x4? 10x8??

The 35mm / 100 ISO version looks pretty good value as well at £3.50 a roll (incl VAT)

I've been using Rollei Retro 100 (which I believe is remaining APX stock, rebranded) for a while, nice film  :)

AG photographic are selling it for £17.50 for 10 rolls at the moment.

Hi Ian,

Yes, I'd heard about that but haven't tried the stuff myself yet. It'd be intereting to compare with the new Agfa stock.

Mind you (and not wanting to be a conspiracy thorist) does the re-emergence of Agfa APX signal the withdrawal of that film from Rollei, as Agfa can make twice the amount??

Paul.
