During the last twelve months or so I have been busy with an ongoing project entitled "Disintegration", with an initial focus on old derelict and abandoned buildings and their surrounds.
The idea is to observe and record the effects of time and weathering on man-made and organic objects. I chose the pinhole camera because I feel that it encourages the slow contemplative approach which best suits the subject matter - and of course, it cried out for black and white!.
A short while into the project I realised that a number of sub-themes were beginning to emerge and that they, in themselves, were worthy of pursuing. One such sub-theme is "Corners", of which I have attached a few examples.
The images were all captured on a handmade 6x6 pinhole camera with a focal length of 38mm. The film used was a combination of Fuji Acros and Ilford FP4 Plus. Negatives were scanned on my Flextight scanner.
Hope you enjoy them!
