Our Very Own...
« on: December 28, 2010, 06:38:59 PM »
Andrea Ingham features towards the end of this program The Hebridean Trail where she talks of the Islands and her photography: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00x53sb/The_Hebridean_Trail/

Andrea is far too dismissive of her photography and the researchers did well to uncover her and to get her to agree to this.  Very well done Andrea - well deserved.

excellent - thanks for the link Carl.  I agree about Andrea's modesty - this is well deserved Andrea.

Sean, I'll try filming the screen later and see what the quality is like, then all the non-brits can see.

Ace! Congratulations Andrea.

Folk outside the UK can watch Iplayer if they fake a UK-based IP address. This is pretty easy to do through Tor.

Try using the DownloadHelper add-on for firefox. If it works, quality will be better.

Thanks folks. Most kind. When they filmed it the chap McNeish asked me the wrong questions!  :-\ He wanted me to say how much the landscape influences me when I wanted to say how much the people did ! Ah well, I suppose it went OK in the end although I am yet to see the programme as we don't have a TV and have not-downloaded it yet - the satellite connection we have hear is too slow to watch it direct!

Well done Andrea

I live in a city in the midlands and in the past have tended to be jealous of the opportunities that others have in more scenic areas of the country.  However your picture turn this on its head, whilst they do show the unique way of life in the Isles, equally good images could be achieved in any community anywhere.

Landscapes change slowly and can be recreated with minor differences by numerous photographers. Look at the recently found lost Ansel Adams negative which may actually have been taken by another photographer.

You images are a unique moment in time and cannot be recreated.
