I don't remember seeing anything like it...
You can tell by the camera's design that it's made by a watchmaker !

Wow is the word, that's quite a thing. It's amazing as a piece of engineering but not particularly attractive, in my humble opinion!

1937 and in pristine condition - how fabulous!  Obviously owned by James Bond or some other international man of mystery.... definitely.  ;)

Seen one only in a book. Fabulous look. Modern cameras should take their cues from gems like these more often.

I'm still not sure where the film cartridge goes... and what's the focusing glass doing in there ?

Sapata - I couldn't agree more with your comment about it having to have been designed by a watchmaker. Weird that such an amazing item was made in an age when simplicity and elegance were the driving forces in design. To me, this looks like one of the most over-engineered and over-complicated picture-taking machines I think I've ever seen.

Well, there's a saying that goes "when in doubt: over-engineer the heck out of the thing"...
I guess that probably was part of the design...

It's not fo me either...  but the roll film back changes the whole thing doesn't it ?

Great source of information, it makes a bit easier to understand the camera's concept which is pretty much trying to have every single feature in one small piece of equipment... a bit like a Swiss Army knife  ;)

I saw one at Malcolm Taylor's once. He had one in to refurb, after sorting my Lecia IIIf. He said it was designed by an Englishman, Noel Pemberton-Billing, it was manufactured by Swiss watchmakers, Le Coultre et Cie. This was the ultimate in sophisticated miniaturisation, packing more features into its small body than any other camera of its size. I sneaked a piccy.

Aye, only if you can find 828 roll film  :P
