Kinda weird looking... you can actually see where the gel was unevenly applied and started to dry off...

I think you might get better control with hair spray... you can remove it with alcohol if needed...

I think we should ask Ed or Damion about this   :-X

After taking the shots and peeling apart I placed the 'negs'
and carriers into plastic punched pockets, thought this would
be a good idea to stop them getting damaged on my way back
to the car, but not.

Ahh I was going to say it looks very much like a watercolour technique I've tried involving a wash of paint and clingfilm laid on top of the paint and maybe smushed or wrinkled around a bit.

Sometimes goop just needs to be dried. Patience...

thanks suzi and heather,

yea i know it takes a while for goop to dry
but in the field if you want to save the neg what do you do?

especially if you are away from the car and have 5 sticky
things to transport?

My simple solution to this age old problem is to not peel apart any of your photos until you get back to the car (or wherever). At least peel no more than you need to make sure the exposure levels are appropriate. Fujifilm peel apart is self-terminating so it won't overdevelop...and as I've mentioned here before, I've never had a problem with expired Polacolor (669, 125i etc.) overdeveloping either. For the last 3 years or so I've not bothered peeling the prints until hours after I've taken them. Never had a problem and it's definitely a LOAD easier than dealing with wet, sticky just peeled prints (which get dusty and dirty no matter how careful you are with them) and goop.

yeah i wait to peel most polas. the exceptions are 664 and 667 which dry out very quickly, so it's tough to peel and makes bubbles on the image. and there are a couple that continue to develop, like 689, so they need to be peeled. but i've left 669 and id-uv for 8+ hours before peeling.

I'm thinking that I might have to buy hair gel~
I absolutely understand where you come from, that triptych is really nice~ but that's just too interesting of an effect to let pass (maybe I'll try it on my holga first)

anyway, keep trying! hope you get to where you want soon :)

thanks more guys!

jojonas, just to be clear I didnt really use hair gel !  ;D

Ed and Sean thanks for the tips, took another one today
for a project I'm working on and it worked a treat.

I noticed although the positive was kind of dark when I processed
the Neg it seems to be brighter and more detail in the shadows.
Its all good!

Along with my creative thirst for photography I also paint
and I printed the above squashed goop version out at 24 inches
wide and as jojonas said its just crazy and very interesting
it actually looks like a painting.

I think I'll be doing it again.

thanks for all the feedback and help much apurciated  :)
