Organic print staining
« on: October 01, 2010, 10:24:27 PM »
I just got this through the Alternativephotography newsletter and I feel many of you will find it quite inspiring (Montreal calling Ed... do you read me ;) )

After coffee staining and Tea staining, they also talk about Wine staining and Food dye staining...
Worth a read.

excellent, got it bookmarked as I really want to try the wine stain.

Any reason to uncork a nice red is good in my book!  :)

Very conflicting... I'm interested but I think I'd rather drink the wine  ;)

I'm with Ann, let's leave wine out of the scenario! Well, other than spillage :'(

I'm wondering if it would work the same with grape juice... not that I care that much for wine (especially the cheap convenience store stuff)...

Cheers (!) for the link, Francois. I haven't read the piece yet, but I did try to stain my Polaroid 125i prints in Port a while ago. Didn't do much for them and I had to re-stain in coffee. Here are the two I tried it with. The first I've shown here before, the second probably not. The whites in the second print do clearly show signs of staining from the Port.

The other thing I tried with 125i was cocoa which worked wonders with any reds in the print.

Port??? Wine??  Something is seriously wrong with the world when people waste good grog on their photos.

I find it's a great idea.
It keeps me from eating everything I get my hands on and gets me to save it to stain photos now ;)

Well... it probably depends if you're looking for a red tinge or a greenish lumpy finish  :P
(Hope I didn't ruin anybody's appetite...)
