A Saturday in the Countryside...
« on: November 19, 2006, 02:09:29 AM »
Standing on a hill overlooking the sea is an abandoned hotel. Opened in the late 1960s we suppose, but closed in the 1980s when the Japanese bubble went pffttt...

We spoke with the owner about how the kids are trying to take stuff, and he graciously allowed us a few hours to explore. An ideal location for an old Polaroid (a 195), some expired film (Type-125i), and some discontinued film (Type-665).

I usually discard the pos from the 665, as shooting for the negs it is usually over-exposed to the nines, but one kinda works.

What did you shoot last weekend? Show us your work... Have fun regardless. Skorj.

the last one reminds me of some sort of Sci-fi abduction scene....

I like the weird light and starkness of it!

You are such a show off....good thing for us too. Say, that black telephone is rather tasty. I like that one a lot. People actually leave super great things like that behind? I would have indeed lifted those chairs...and the phone. Good work, sir, once again.

Well, I don't have anything from last week, I don't think...but a little bit of tidders from today and Amish Country. Nothing too great, but interesting. I need to pay those bangs another visit.

Just a few some of you may have already seen...more soon from the blog.

There's some wonderful captures here, this is my humble offering shot with a Holga using HP5+.

It was actually shot at the coast, hence nothing on the horizon. But it was also in the countryside away from beaches and built up tourist areas.

Thanks. Nice to see new work from such varying places - although I can see a common feel to much of these. Great.

I like that one from Kuru and the bridge. Very nice nice. Everyone's entry is. Good show!

Okay..confession time...as I can be a creepy cruddy sneaky rat sometimes...not all the time though. The image above, mine, with the road sign, I did indeed clone out a mailbox and made adjustments. I actually like it better with the mailbox, but wanted to practice my conniving craft at cloning.

Here's the original scan....
