New to the forum but not to wasting film
« on: September 17, 2010, 02:00:19 PM »
Am new here so go easy on me...

My name is Paul and I'm on the wrong side of 50 (only just though!). I have been taking images since I was 14 with a long hiatus during my 20's and 30's as something called a career got in the way. Like a lot of people my interest in photography was sparked into life again with the advent of digital but like all happy endings I have reverted back to using film.

I have a reasonable collection of camera's but my weapons of choice are a Chamonix 45N-1 for LF, a Bronica SQAi and an Agfa Super Isolette for MF, a Nikon F90x and an XPan for 35mm, but my pride and joy is my Zero 2000 pinhole camera. I also like dabbling with Polaroid having two 600SE's a Daylab printer and a fridge full of 669 and 665.

It seems I already know a few names here from other forums but hope to get to know a few more friendly filmwasters!

Best regards

Paul

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Leon - Have admired your work from afar for some years now

Mark - I live in Buckinghamshire but have a holiday home in Suffolk so can often be seen with a darkcloth over my head in and around Southwold

I too have a holiday home near Southwold, and can be spotted normally with a Rolleiflex or Nikkormat sometimes even 'under a cloth at dawn'  ;D
There are a few images in recent threads...
Paul I seem to think we've had this discussion on another forum-or else I'm getting a deja vu feeling (again)

Paul, when I feel like fine wine it's good. Unfortunately it is often a flat beer!

Welcome Paul!  Filmwasters are a right-friendly bunch -- I think you're going to like it around these parts :)

Great set of cameras you have there, I look forward to seeing some of your output!

...and a fridge full of 669 and 665.

Welcome to Filmwasters, Paul...but go easy on the 665 mentions. Some of us are still in therapy over its demise.

Welcome Paul, from another Paul in East Anglia (Essex). I'm a relative newbie here and can definitely vouch for the warmth and wisdom that I've received from one and all.

Diane, I hope you're having a great time on vacation and finding some time to waste some film. Can I be the first to applaud your use of the angle bracket '<' and '>' - presumably to denote 'Abroad' status. We may need to adopt it as a forum convention.
