Interesting that one of the related stories listed there is, 'Kodachrome May Be Dead but Polaroid is Back', talking about The Impossible Project. Kodachrome (& Polaroid) was all about the popping color and as much as I like that TIP are trying, they haven't yet come up with any film that has anything even close to popping color yet....
Ok... allow me to digress from the original post here - (and bear with me... I'll be making a point):
I remember as a kid, going to one of my brother's cub scouts events where the father and son had to bake a cake and then each pair brought their cakes in to be auctioned off and sold to someone else. To this day I remember with a smile this one pair had frosted their cake while it was still hot (haha, what do boys know in the kitchen?? - j/k). This resulted in pulling the chocolate cake apart and having it mix in with the vanilla frosting.
So what did they do? Did they start over, correct the flaws? Oh no... they capitalized on it and took the stance of raffling off a rare delight called a Speckled Chocolate Cake. Much attention was given to the 'prized' speckling... Oooohs and Ahhhss and a bidding frenzy ensued...

Could this be what the Impossible Project is doing? I love 'em, but I sometimes feel offended by what sometimes feels like is advertising directed toward village idiots, easily persuaded to pay premium dollar for a beta product.
