Yep, it's very cool indeed. I went to an exhibition in London a few years ago where they'd done something similar but on a larger scale on a patch of grass about 4 feet square. The image faded over the course of the exhibition, but it looked great.

BTW, I loved the use of the word 'immigrated' in the bio from the Haines Gallery. Never seen that before and it made me smile.

In fact I did some digging and I found a couple of websites by the artists who created the 'photo' that I saw in London; Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey. Both of these links are worth following:

Here's an example

They actually have some info on this on http://www.alternativephotography.com/

I personally tried something a bit different: an Anthotype.
Lets just say that the amount of UV exposure required for these is a bit overwhelming (should read my results were really bad)
I'll have to try it again some time next summer with a more contrasty negative and longer exposures.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

It seems that the process is essentially simple, but time-consuming.

Any idea how long these prints last? I guess post exposure to the sun will wipe out the image.

Janet

ps. Thanks Gary, I'm going to try one of these to show to my school workshop
