Weekend Record.
« on: April 11, 2010, 03:38:06 AM »
Friday night after work departure. Record round-trip distance for one shot. Tragically Hip on the MP3 player through the night. Not able to find a hotel in the middle of nowhere, but with a brilliantly accurate map drawn by local conbeni manager found us bedding down at 01:00. 100 yen onigiri! Up at 08:00 the next day. Home Saturday afternoon. One shot happiness.

and some quaint digital stitching in this modern film age, combining a Ken and Skj Polaroid shots.

Well, the shots are great, as always. The stitch I like very much.

The journey to get a photo sticks in my mind as much as the photo.

In your own words, IMPRESSED... No.23

I'm still mentally scarred from my mission trying to get from Daitabashi/Tokyo to Motegi for the MotoGP race while wearing a Jamaican flag as a sarong... Lord have mercy on a man with limited Japanese outside the cities.

I decided to enlarge the Polaroids, because, as the wolf said to Red Riding Hood, “all the better to see you with, my dear.” Mrs Helmut Newton

Skorj,

I gladdens my heart to learn that I am not the only one who does things like that.

And for what a wonderful result.  Great!

Cheers,

The stitch itself was my only reason for posting this. That and the map perhaps. But when our usual third was not able to make it we sent our work, and he created the stitch, it kinda clicked.

Wise words! You have to be fearless!

Well perhaps, a few more Polaroids, and some Ektar on various things. But, if I drive 937km for a location, if I come back with one shot, I am happy. I've yet to process the rest, but the one above I liked. This one too, for different reasons...

Love that last shot. Looks like it could have been taken 50 years ago!

i think my driving record for one day (not including moving across country) was last summer at about 670 miles (1078km) in one day. i took more than one shot, though! great stuff! love both shots.
