Some tasty goodness here;   :)
http://www.500photographers.com/

Love the interview with Todd Hido, and when he whips out a vintage camera- well, wow!
I won't spoil it by saying what it is here- it's worth the surprise!

His houses at night and portraits are lush stuff.   :)

****Warning--- a little bit of "full monty" here so be warned.

what I really was inspired about by Hido's work is that he seems so approachable and made me feel like
I too, could achieve photos like that.

I am out a lot at night doing astrophotography so my camera is usually pointed up at the stars, but after seeing his shots of homes, it made me realize that I have been wasting opportunities.

Watching him has given me a great kick in the hind side.   :)

It's odd. I've been a fan of Hido's work for a while, but, watching the video really hit a nerve. Made me think about what I'm doing or more to the point what I'm not doing!

As in staying up late? :)

I think we all need to get a Pentax67, a blond wig, find a model and a low grade hotel room  :P

Francois, I may just try the blonde wig myself - I've been looking for a challenge!

Not sure about the 67 though. Do you think it might work with 6X6?

Phil, 6x6 would make it YOURS!  I'm certainly going to try it.  I'm utterly inspired and I know JUST the seaside foggy neighborhood in which to shoot (though I'll have to wait until August...)  ;-p

Would be cool to do a mini collab of sorts together.

The Todd Hido Collective!

I have been meaning to get out and do some night photography for quite a while now (quite a while means years) sometimes my lack of motivation amazes me.

The fogs of my youth seem to have gone from where I live. Not sure if that is a global warming issue or the way I remember things. I think perhaps the latter.

they just added an interview with David Maisel.

I'm a big fan of his aerial work, but his work with the copper canisters is quite amazing and touching considering it's human art.
