Gear I want...part 3?
« on: November 03, 2009, 05:57:49 PM »
This is pretty cool. Besides being very nice to look at, the Kowa SW sports a 28mm lens (SW=super wide). Uncommon for its age! 3.2 isn't too bad...be nice if it went a bit wider. I could only find a couple examples of output...

Available in silver and all black. I like the black version...

i like this, too. the convertible horseman. looks like it has a fujipet-style shutter system. probably not as interesting to use as it looks, though. takes different backs.

i was looking at those makinas last year. tempting but decided against it.

On the Makina 67, the price is certainly the determining factor !  That Horseman look pretty cool. What formats does it shoot?

The Kowa SW is awfully nice looking as well...

For ages I've been looking for a carry-everywhere camera and I've decided on one of these.

The original XA is apparently aperture priority f2.8, you can't say better!

The gear I want isn't actually a camera. What I want is a Rolleinar 2 in bay II for my F 3,5 Rolleiflex, that single purchase will make my gear complete.

Nice little unit these, have one back in Oz in the lockup, used to carry it around quite often and like you say the lens is very good

I dream of owning one of these babies, but the way the prices are it will most probably never happen :-(

Today, I lusted, I getted...  Zeiss Ikon 523/16.  Minty condition. Talked the antique shop down to 175 USD - which is  almost a steal for one in the condition of mine.... Now if it would only stop pouring rain so I can get out and use it....

I picked this up for 200 yen this week. It needs a few tweaks, but I am amazed by the quality of this little half-frame. Twin lens; 'tele' at 69mm and 'wide at 23mm. Both f8. Motor drive. Flash. DX compatible. TV-mode, and a BLC button. Whatever that may be.

Results soon I hope... Skj.

BLC is Back Light Control... same as on my Minolta. Probably simply overexposes the background by a stop to make sure the subject is visible.

Sweet! I knew I used this site for some purpose! Fixed it this AM; new light seal, and focus arm adjusted. Out shooting today. It feels kind of like a Transformer toy... Now, where's Ms. Fox?
