Topic: Fuji 160C

Gosh, I love this film.  I've been looking for a color film to use in my Leica...  Most of what I tried was either too sedate and naturalistic or too unnaturally saturated.

Fuji 160C can be natural while vivid,



looks wonderful (to my eyes) overexposed and printed down (photoshopped dark)



and has very nice range

Thanks, Skorj.  So I decide to buy a digital finally to handle my color needs (Oly E-P1) and the day it arrives I discover and fall in love with 160C.

Worse things could happen.  One more.

Good that you've found a colour film that works for you and that you haven't given up on it.
We all make aesthetic choices : I find that digital lacks the tonal strength and depth of film.
I started with colour this last May and it's been an enjoyable learning adventure.

BTW ... what scanner are you using?  You seem to get full-frame scans - most scanners crop slightly into the neg.

Yeah, we'll see about the Oly.  I hear good things about the color but I'm fearful it lacks character.

I use an Epson V500 Photo and the 35mm neg carrier does cut into the frame, so I use the 120 carrier.

I used the film too... but in the Holga.
Colors are very nice, much different than my usual Kodak Gold. They seem to be somewhat "peppier" than what I'm used to while being as far away as possible from my beloved Agfa Ultra...

I really like the color on those last two shots.  I recently went from digital back to film and I have to say that from my own, and the experiences of others that I have witnessed without an HDR kit, or a full frame digital sensor, the color will rarely look as good, in my opinion as film.  That being said, I don't have the resources to develop my own film right now, so the characteristics I am seeing are produced by a photo lab.

lovely images. This is my favourite colour film too and I've just ordered some to get me away from my erroneous belief that I can do colour in digital. Well OK I can, but it doesn't match 160c for natural, smooth grain/noise free images
