I'm new here. Looks like a really good forum.

I'm from Liverpool, but currently based in London.

Howdy,

I'm a newby as well based in London, glad to see others joining in.

The original crew here are a bunch of crusty old farts who keep to themselves and just mumble occasionally about the good old days.

Well okay I just made that up, in fact they are a good crew to hang with.

I looked at your flickr site, briefly as I hate flickr, nice stuff on there, what sort of stuff do you get into.

Just noticed you are a Mamiya TLR man - thats some cool stuff

Also have the ubiquitous Flickr page but will have to search for the address. Nowhere near as extensive or interesting as your own. Comes witht he territory when one crosses the into boring-old-fartdom.

Seems we Mamiya TLR folk are numerous - I can truly vouch for the 55mm.

That was to be my choice too when and if I ever upgraded from my 'Mat 124. Welcome a few new members then! We hope you are able to obtain perhaps just a small benefit to your filmwasting efforts... Skj.

The C330 isn't the most compact camera for travelling but it's a joy to use and the results are so much better than anything else I've had. A friend has since recommended the Mamiya RZ67 but I've already invested time in getting ok with the C330. It's also much cheaper

I have a C220 with 55mm, 80mm and 180mm

I love this camera to bits. It was my fathers when he was Pro Phot so it has been in real action news stuff

I have an RB67 which I have had for a while to use in the studio, lovely bit of kit.

Haven't pulled the Rb out of the bag since I have been here as it is a fair lump to cart around on your back or on you pushbike.

May get it out soon anyway for the hell of it

Every camera I own was used when I got it..except my D80..Luckily I have never gotten burned with anything too "used up" The mamiya doesn't get used a lot and If I were rational I would prolly sell but I love the results and it is just so beautiful ( IMO)..but it is heavy..weighs about half what I do..I am a dedicated follower of Black & White Photography magazine and the first time I saw photos done with the C330 I knew I had to have one..(strange way to decide on a camera ) shows what a novice I am..

If you decide to get an RZ67, I'd recommend lifting weights first. It weighs a TON! I rented one once, to try before buying. Glad I did. It has some great features, but the sheer weight of it kept me from buying.

I've seen Annie Liebovitz at work handling her RZ67 like it was light as a feather. I'd have to say that's more impressive than any of her photographs could be.

That's why most people who use one set it on a hefty tripod or monopod... It also looks good on a nice studio stand. But hanging around the neck is another story

I am an RZ II fan. I had a system and flogged it off (bay and bathwater yet again) when I switched to 01010101 stuff.

I have been scouring the dreaded Ebay for one but am faltering as I decide whether to go back to a 4x5 Sinar instead.

It is a wonderfully quirky crew here and it might take me a little while to get up to speed on the quirkiness side of things but it is so refreshing in its approach.

This line had me chuckling

Seems like ol' Annie has some finance issues these days too due to over stretching herself in the proptery market.

Welcome to all of the newcomers. We had several people a week signing up on the forum for the last 6 months & while it's true that there will always be a bit of churn with older memebers gradually reducing their input and then moving on althogether it's fantastic to see new 'faces' showing up with such regularity and getting stuck in.
