Thought I'd create a topic with cameras in mind and the ones we see here and there that might tickle our fancy. And Lord knows, we can use a little tickling now and then. Spread the word, spread the peanut butter and perhaps your wallet, with a few of these tasty items or the ones you can find and post up here. I am officially under house arrest and forbidden to purchase anther camera again. Spread 'em...

These few I found are for the big fellows like Ed, wanting to tame their appetites for such a light weight machine and have room for a beer and even dessert, and manage a night a love making without the extra belly flop. If you catch my drift...

The Littman 45 Single, coupled, rangefinder/parallax, camera, and it's many facets and gadgets and heavenly white bellows. We like white, right? Sure we do. Here's what she looks like. And then we have, the Hobo. That's right, the Hobo. The camera that goes where you go. Sort of like your Mother. Fully automated, just set the f stop and shutter speed, point and shoot, and you're in business. No fuss, no muss...and, no focusing necessary and it's light weight as well. We need that in our diets. Fashioned by two really terrific friends and photographers, Gordon Mark and Dick Sullivan. Now I like this one and it's rather neat design and all. I'm sure you will too. I think Bob "No Traces" Smith got himself one of them Hobos. He was telling me that he was awaiting the delivery of a honkin' huge handheld camera not too long ago.

There's an Australian chap on ebay who sells Polaroid 4x5 conversions, plus kits for doing it yourself ... bit cheaper than the Littman ones. Plus, check out Littman's postings on photo.net and see if that's someone you'd want to do business with...

Personally, I'm going to go for a lie down now until the LF urge subsides.

Both lovely cams to say the least. Never really knew what the Littman was all about - seriously cool! I previously posted a bit on Gaoersi cameras and they have a Hobo -type cam that looks really unique:

I guess those guys more or less designed that Hobo after a 19th century point and shoot camera...as read. I've seen here and there on different boards in regards to this rig and some folks thinking it's sweet as hell, and some wishing and wanting more control over focus. So then we go back to the 19 century. Regardless, the Hobo looks promising and I wouldn't mind fiddling around with it. Though chances of that, are slim to none. Susan, keep that list fresh.

Now that camera you put up, Ron, is like a smack on the ass...damn, does that thing look cool and built Ford tough..and the price is right around a used Ford too, by the way. Not bad, considering.The side grips look to be made from cherry. I bet Skorj has ten of them. Good stuff...here's the website. Nice find, Ron...

I was eyeballing the Black Beast and Green Monster earlier and the looks of these things boggles the mind. Interesting set up. I guess when you're not busy taking gorgeous photographs, you can be playing beeutiful music with them on the street, with their accordian like bellows....or driving it to work.

Even though I have an old Crown Graphic lying in a drawer, I've never been a big Large Format user.

But, anyone who wants go get me seriously drooling just has to show me an Alpa 12

And for just the price of a new car, you can get the handles carved out of your favorite kind of wood...
I just made myself a "decent" package using their pricelist... and I come up to 10646$US

But still, the Littman and the green monster look kind of sweet.
As for the hobo... looks like a plywood box with a door viewer attached... has that hardware store feel to it. (Scotland Yard used to have cameras just like it a very long time ago I read somewhere)

I wouldn't mind getting that 6x17 or 6x24 panoramic for Christmas

Like usual, no real deal from Lomography... A Fotoman 6x17 that will take any Large Format lens you got lying around is 1,599$.
And the same Schneider lens is around 1,500$ too....

not so much interested in the camera, but the concept sound like fun. maybe find a small 127 camera (baby brownie?) and rig it to a wristband, seal it up and take it surfing or skiing! anyone ever rig up some kind of waterproofing for a toycam (or any non-waterproof cam)? maybe i could be a complete retard and find the biggest (cheap) camera possible to strap to my wrist.

i would love to have one of those wide-pano cameras! been staring at the horizons for awhile. i have a few cameras on my "want list"... ricoh gr1, color-flex tlr, great wall tlr, etc.

That's a Tichy!
He's quite respected in the fine art world--amazing story.
He's homeless.
Or somewhat homeless? Can't recall, but I know he lives on the streets.
Most of his negs have dirt and bugs on them and they become part of the final print.
I learned about him after I started making my own cameras. Someone in Europe sent me the link since they said my work reminded them of a Tichy.
I'll try to dig up his story and post here--something everyone should read imho.

Yeah, we do like white bellows, Beck. Unfortunately I agree with the comment about Littman and not wanting to do bizniz with those spoilt children...despite the fact that I W.A.N.T. one so badly. The Hobo looks cool too.

Great post. A healthy bit of camera lust never, ever hurts.

On my list? Well, for years I've wanted something like a Linhof 617...their styling is kind of creepy these days compared to the older models, but I do still quite fancy one.

I know this is reviving a pretty old thread... but I couldn't pass the opportunity.
I just found another weird and wonderful dream camera.
It's a small (not), portable (not) TLR...
Just take a look and you will see:

It's an 8x10, 3 feet tall monster (only 7 were ever made)

He's also the maker of a nice pocket sized view camera.

Heys, if I could chose one of these cameras, it would definitely be the one built by mr Tichy.
He is around 80 years now and lives in an old shabby shed somewhere in Russia I think. He builds his own cameras and just gives away his negatives and prints ( on which he actually paints eccentric frames ) to visitors, while his prints sell for some thousand dollars in the big galleries. He has no intention of making art at all, in an interview he said that he justs wants to take pictures of naked women and he does that by peeping at them in public swimming areas ...
Also somebody now looks after his money and manages sales because Mr Tichy would just buy Vodka exclusively for every penny he gets... that´s what the magazine says...

His photographs have an impressive character.
