Where are they now?
« on: July 20, 2008, 02:51:06 AM »
So I was thumbing through a handful of Plastic Fantastic magazines John Reeves let me look over....which by the way, I was totally stoked by and by its content and design. Wow, I am thinking where the heck was I at the time. I hardly remember. But I certainly remember most in the issues I got. Then there are folks who I seem to want to remember, but don't really. Vaguely...

For example...

Eric Hathaway (editor and publisher)

Martin Leichter
Kevin Flynn

Two older gentlemen who toyed around with the plastic.

And I do distinctly remember Sharky from tc.com...

There are a lot of folks who have passed thru the plastic gates. I looked over some older issues of Light Leaks and see so many names that ring a bell...but wonder where they've vanished too....gee.

So, where are they now? And what happened to Plastic Fantastic?

And what happened to Plastic Fantastic?

The harsh commercial reality of niche market publishing happened  :(
He did a nice job with PF. Clean simple styling. I miss the mag too

Thine eyes did not see...till I did a search here. Damn is right.

I have to thank John once again for sending me these. I had never seen one in person. And yes, Don, I couldn't agree more about the clean and simple design and layout. It was perfect. I am thinking there were only the 4 issues, including the Year End Issue.

When punching in the website, there does appear to be a page....but with zero content. Geez....

They could at least have left a thank you message...

I checked the wayback machine, there were 5 updates in 2005
Here is the link if anybody wants to check out the different versions of the site that were archived through the years.

Hmm, hard times indeed then. Even more so now. I would love to see this started again and will make any sort of contribution to see it happen.

Eric was a one- man- band so to speak.
He did the entire mag by himself with very little assistance from his editor.

I hated to see it go as well. :(
