SHOTS no. 100
« on: June 17, 2008, 01:29:02 AM »
I was happy to learn that one of my photos made the no. 100 issue of Shots magazine. Overjoyed is a better word. I had no idea until Bill V. emailed me and said he seen the issue....along with two of his images too, I might add. I have tried several times submitting work and knowing how finicky Russell is with content, I figured I'd go for it once more. I told Russ that I didn't want to know if I did or not and wanted to wait for the issue in the mail instead. I am pleased to finally join the likes of Gordon, Susan, Gary, Skorj...and so many others, who have made past issues. A great feeling it is for me....

Well done - looks like a great periodical. Is it available on the newsstands in the US (I'm visiting next week), or subscription only?

Thanks everyone. Oh, Francois, tis not my photo on the cover. I just posted it to do my topic up. I wish, though....

Roryot, I am not sure if Shots is sold in stores....more than likely just paid with subscription.

I saw it in Borders when I was last in the US.  It's well worth subscribing though!

Definitely one of your all-time bests, beck. No wonder Russell picked it. Glad to be sharing an issue with you... :)

Oh, and if you don't have a subscription or can't find it on the newsstands, you can order individual copies directly at shotsmag.com.

Thanks. Got mine today. Well, the second issue....long story. I almost didn't see my picture.  ;D

Seriously, it was really great to see the history of Shots with all the past covers from beginning to end and the change of hands. I loved the different looks the magazine went through too. Neat stuff. It reminded me of Maximum Rock and Roll. I really had no clue it went back that far. Lovely sentiments from people, including Gordon's. Russell is a cool cat...
