Anyone here own a Zen MP3 player?
« on: February 06, 2008, 01:14:06 PM »
Per Leon's request, I registered the Filmwasters podcasts with Zen via their Zencast site. I don't own a Zen player personally, but if you do there's probably some advantages to subscribing to our shows via their interface (Leon, help me out here).

They've  set up a rather nice page for us, so get subscribing.

wow - looks great.

I use the zencast organiser downloader - you can either subscribe from the page Ed links to, or go to the fw podcast page, right click the rss link and select "copy link location" then, in the ZENcast organiser, click subscribe and paste the address.

Each time you open the ZENcast organiser, any new podcasts will be automatically downloaded and made reasy for transfer to your zen mp3 player.

Any word or getting it hooked up on iTunes yet? I think that'd be the way to go.

my first mp3 player was a zen. first day i dropped it from about a foot from the ground and the earphone connector came loose inside and stopped working. returned it the same day.
if i used one, though, i'd be all over it!

had my zen vision m 30gig for over a year now and it's been thrown about and generally treated badly for all that time with no ill effects at all.

I've got an ancient Zen that's been living in my car's glove compartment (thieves take note!) for about 4 or 5 years - works flawlessly despite being banged around, frozen solid in the winter and baked in the summer.  It does, however, look like something from the stone age compared to more recent models!

I have an irrational hatred of Apple which is why I've thus far avoided iTunes, but the time has come and I will be signing up with them soon. Will report back when done.

fine if you're downloading and listening on a computer, but if you want to transfer to a stand alone player, creative zen players wont work with itunes ......

Yeah, you would have to transfer it to whatever software the creative players use, so it would be an extra step...

Still, it seems like there would be a lot of potential listeners who would like to subscribe via iTunes. So, what not have both?

Me, I'm fine just listening through the website, as I have neither a Creative or non.Creative MP3 player... just my lowly computer.

My husband has a Zen, and says (loyally) that the Filmwasters podcast will be the best thing on the Zencast site.

...that man sounds like a thoroughly decent chap all round.
 :) :) :)

Also, re iTunes; that's coming I just need an hour or so to hand over my credit cad details (for no %&^$?"ing reason!!!), set up my account and then negotiate whatever insane rules and regs our nice, cuddly, 'we love the world', chums at Apple Computer Corp put in my way before I can share our humble little podcast via their site.

I've got a creative zen brick and I'll try and download from the zencast site. Like someone else said I didn't realise it has as a special website.
