Sorry I haven't been around much guys, life has got in the way in the form of working on my sons house, having a operation and getting a puppy.
I haven't taken many photos in the last few months but have vowed to get out with the Intrepid  10x8 over the coming months
Went out to test the cammera with a Schneider-Kreuznach Tele-Xenar 360mm f/5.5 lens and didn't get it quite right. I have more test shots to develop when I get 5 mins

LF noob here (just getting back into it - sort of), but does the Tele-Xenar 360mm f/5.5 cover 10x8. I thought not.

It was disappointing to Captain John Meares.  Its still difficult to get past the bar.  The Coast Guard designed special boats to conduct rescues.

"Cape Disappointment got its name in 1788 from British Captain John Meares, who was searching for the mouth of the Columbia River. After misinterpreting the river's entrance as a bay and being unable to enter due to sandbars, Meares named the headland "Cape Disappointment" in frustration over his failed attempt to find the river."

Same thing here. But for me, it's in the form of planning a change of careers. This thing is keeping me so busy I would need 8 days in a week.

I checked the specs and thought it did and it was sold on ebay as covering 10x8 but from the test shot i looks as though it doesn't. I will determine better once I dev the other shots.

I'm surprised that at 360mm it doesn't cover.
I'd have to check my old Calumet catalog to see if there aren't two versions of that lens...
I'm pretty sure that the 8x10 version would be bigger than the 4x5 version.

I can confirm that the Tele Xenar is 5x7 only.
For 8x10, you need to go to
Schneider Kreuznach:
Apo-Symmar (240mm and up), a Super-Angulon (165mm and up) or a Super-Symmar (210mm)

Caltar II brand:
Symmetrical (240mm and up)

Nikkor:
SW Series (120mm and up), W series (240mm and up), M series (300 and up), T-Ed series (1200mm)

Rodenstock:
Grandagon (155mm and up), Sironar-N (240mm and up), Apo-Sironar (210mm and up), Apo-Ronar (360mm and up)

This is according to an old 1990's Calumet catalog.
I have no information I can get to right away for older brands like Wollensak and Kodak, but I know they made some 8x10 lenses.

Another option would be to go the DIY route...

Thanks for the clarification guys.
I'll use the lens on my 1/2 plate camera, so it wont go to waste but now I'll have to find something suitable that has a shutter at a reasonable price

Or just use a barrel lens with an ND filter and time things using the lens cap. I know it's far from ideal but it would work.

Having just been looking at LF lenses, LF and 'reasonable price' just don't seem to go together.

Maybe you should look into getting a Packard shutter?
These things are pretty universal and let you use pretty much anything for a lens.

Also, Kodak made some lenses for 8x10. Since they're old, they could be a lot cheaper.
Look for Eastman Ektar or Commercial Ektar lenses like their 14 inch model.

There's also the Kodak Wide-Field Ektar 250mm, the Kodak Anastigmat 12 inch (which should cover 8x10)

I'm pretty sure Wollensak also made some, but I can't readily find info on it.
