Talk about wiiide...
« on: January 23, 2008, 08:35:08 AM »
Something about wide gets me going. Unfortunately getting full-frame wide with a Polaroid needs either a Mamiya Universal 50mm or a 600 SE 75mm - both heavy and at about 27mm and 30mm (35mm equiv) neither one is really wide enough. What to do?

Pinhole! Pity you have to use a tripod and carry a meter and an f-conversion table. Fun though... Test shots follow. Next, some Type-665.

Errr... Motor-wound pinhole? Or, does that lever eject from pack through manual rollers? Show more camera! Nice effort regardless.

(Sean, that's not me. No way am I that handsome without glasses.)

I told you it would be wide enough to even pick up your ancestors...and then some. Nice test shots so far. Now brings the guns out for crissakes. I still have to manage mine outside yet. Too damn cold.

Thanks Skorj, I was glad to see a nice wide image develop after all the work invested.

the answer is a motor driven back.  a rather rare film back, I think, it came off some form of endoscopic camera made by olympus. I built the pinhole contraption so as to slide the film back in like a drawer.. after the exposure is made push the green button on the back and the film is ejected. the leaver opens the mouth of the back to unload/load film packs.

I agree; that's one lovely-looking camera.

Sean: I thought that was Skorj too. Does he have a double....or have I just been drinking too heavily this weekend?

Skorj: Tarrant is looking well 'Brit pop' in the 2nd snap. Way to go!

Funny... I just happened on one of those earlier today on e(vil)Bay... was listed as an SX-70 land back? found myself envisioning all the things it could be good for! Alas, trop cher for me, but it's got about three hours left if any of the filmwasters are interested.
