Weekend - May 17 & 18, 2025

Got my Rollei 35S out for some miniature zone focus fun. I love that camera. The film I tried for the first time, not so much. Kentmere 400. I found it very unforgiving and difficult to deal with in post if it's any bit over-exposed. I really struggled with it (the last two).

Two more from last week.
I was quite happy when I saw the photography view port at the airport. It's just too bad there wasn't any activity at that time. It would have been fantastic if there was a plane taking-off in the hole...

Two more Polaroids from me. In the coming weeks there will not be any contributions from me as I'm moving house. I'm moving up north prmanently, it's 1200 km from here. Once I get up there, there will be some decorating work to do inside, outside there is not a lot that needs to be done for now.

Hope there won't be too many black flies... they think it's the season for giving after all 😉🧛

I decided to test my new Voigtländer Vito C.  I've had a roll of Kodak Tri-X kicking around for a few years that I labeled short roll.  I didn't realize how short it was, I got about 2.2 shots with it.  This is the one that turned out best, the other was out of focus.  The 0.2 shot wasn't very impressive.  Developed in Rodinal 1:50.

Not sure what your black flies are, but we've got some tiny ones that are about half a millimeter in size. They operate in swarms, they bite and they get into your eyes and ears. They are mostly active in the early summer, especially in the evenings and before and after a rainfall. There's only one remedy for those, get inside the house and close the door.

Those are the critters. And they don't sting, they take a bite and run off with the piece of skin leaving a ton of tiny scabs.
Here, we half jokingly say that up north, there are only two seasons: heating oil season and bug oil season 😁
