Nice shots, Bryan! No need to go halfway round the globe to find interesting motifs.  ;)
My two shots are from a small river estuary where lots of seafowl seek food and shelter from the North Sea during the winter. They are quite shy so you need a powerful lens to get any closeups.

I am helping my son renovate his first home, so time is at a bit premium at the moment, (we are dealing with a external wall with damp). I am not having much oppurtunity to get out with a camera but had to test the newly arrived Intrepid 8x10 black edition.
Darkroom paper exposed on a overcast day rated at iso3 & a Rodenstock-APO- Ronar F9 480mm lens. I also need to get a 300mm (ish) lens at a fair price so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Schneider-Kreuznach G-Claron enlarger lenses come to mind. They can be had quite cheap on their own, but once you put them into a Copal shutter they are not quite so cheap. Of course you need to check that they can cover 8x10.

some half frame fun from me during a recent jaunt over to Arizona.
Rollei Retro S dunked about in D76 for 12 minutes.
The difference in tone between the two is because I always scan b/W as if it was colour and sometimes it lends a sepia type tone.
THe top shot was converted to B/w after scanning so it looks more "normal".

Personally, I would get an 1800's Kershaw or similar shutter and a barrel lens.
When you shop in the antiques section, there are some lenses with a definite personality that can be had for much less than their modern equivalent.
Also, having a separate shutter could allow you to experiment with optics (which is always the cheapest way to do things).

You could also get a Packard Shutter. There's currently one on evilBay for a decent price.
It will need a new hose and bulb, jut that's something that can be hand-made easily. It also probably needs a bit of oil, but these things are so simple that it's no problem.

From a road trip a few years ago. The old hospital at Fort Laramie, Wyoming.
Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Simply amazing B&W photos from everyone, as usual 😊 Andrej, I literally thought I was looking at Sicily before I read your description 😊 And Becky, I always scan B&W in color in case I get some cool toning like that 😉
