Weekend - Nov 30 to Dec 1, 2024
« on: November 30, 2024, 05:57:50 AM »
It's mushroom season!  Rolleiflex Automat with Ilford Pan-F 50+ developed in beer.  This had been an unusual mushroom season in my neighborhood, lots of large mushrooms that I don't usually see here.  They all are concentrated around a high school near my home.  At first I thought maybe someone left the door to the boys locker room open and allowed some funky spores to escape.  But then I realized they were concentrated in landscaped areas where students tend to take shortcuts through, coming and going from the school.  They must have tracked them in from somewhere else.  Until now I have only encountered the Fly Agaric in the woods far from here.  These first two are still in the button stage.  I used a rondo close-up attachment and used a small piece of wood to set the camera at ground level.  These were long exposures at f/22 to get a decent depth of field with the close-up attachment.

I love the last shot Bryan, well done! The mushroom season is long gone here, we've already had one day of snow (and it lasted only one day).
I've been shooting the interplay between sand and sea along the coast.

Bryan it looks like you had a better, more interesting selection of mushroom than I had, Ill go out earlier next year I think.
Back at the tail end of summer, I was working in Rye and took a stroll down to the very pebbly beach, with the modified Mamiya Super 23 and which I think Ill return to, when there is more interesting weather. The hut in the background is a monument to lifeboat crews.

Mushroom season has been long gone here too.
Snowing this morning.
These are from a few weeks ago.
Nothing exceptional but I'm a bit stuck in a rut these days... again. (that's what happens when you have too many things to do and too little time and energy)
