A couple weeks ago I took part in a photo contest organized by a photo lab (same one as the Pentax 17 event). Then lent us Yashica Eletro 35's loaded with a  12 exposures roll of Mira Tempête 400 ("tempête" means tempest or storm in French), a film made —or rather repackaged— by a tiny French company. Daylight film without halation layer, I have no idea what emulsion it actually is.
Long story short, I didn't win anything but I had fun and here are a couple shots I took.

It does seem to have a grin on its beak.  It didn’t seem to mind me getting right up close to it.

One from the WABAC again this week, but there's a new roll waiting at the lab that'll get picked up on Monday. My mom with my sister and me, early Summer 1954. 4x5 Graflex D, Tessar 210/4.5, Verichrome or Ansco pack film.

I'm more and more convinced, the older I get, that my dad was one of the few photographers of his generation, if not perhaps the only one, who used a large format SLR for family photos. The negatives abruptly stop in 1957: my sister and I turned 4 that year, we were too mobile and too fast for my dad to corral into one spot long enough to get a picture, so he moved on to Kodak Starmite and Starflash cameras pretty much up to the point that we graduated high school.

I've been developing a lot of film the past week.

Got to play with the ISCO 24mm lens. I rarely use it because it's huge, and because I'm not a big fan of ultrawide lenses.

Since I tried Rollei RPX 100, thought I should go ahead and try the Agfa APX flavor of Kentmere 100.

This film really does look just like Kentmere 100.

And played around with a yellow-green filter:

I've used it a lot before, but never actually did a comparison test (left image is unfiltered).

I also happened upon some negatives from the 1940s that I will try to print at a later date, they've been rolled up for who knows how many decades and are super curly (seriously, even in the glass carrier of the Federal enlarger, they would not stay flat).

I had a couple of rolls of 35mm, pictures from an Alaska trip an uncle took in the late 40s/early 50s, that were stored in Kodak screw-top canisters. I never did figure out a way to flatten the film but at least got a few reasonably decent scans. Best of luck.

What I've tried (on modern films, not sure if I'd want to risk it on vintage film) is to completely rehydrate the emulsion, then hang it to dry with weights at the ends, and make sure they dry slowly (humid environment). Then the normal pressing between books. And now that I've completely explained the procedure, I can't remember if it actually worked 😂

I see no reason for it not to work.
You could also roll it back the other way around and put it back in the can for a while.

I was actually surprised to find this 😕
But as I thought, if it's good enough for a museum, it's good enough for us.

Heck, with the number of desert fresh rolls we use, knowing this stuff is definitely a must.
