Requim For a Polaroid.
« on: January 10, 2008, 01:08:40 PM »
Internet version of the hard copy magazine feature on Polaroid and their films & cameras:

Heso Magazine (January 2008).

Pick up a copy perhaps when you're next out and about in Tokyo. See ya! Skj.

Sean, what if it's really shitty though? That might be of interest.

My thought was "hmm...wonder if a crappy lens could be hacked onto it..."

well, i'm partially sold. i don't think it's even one percent near being a replacement for conventional polaroids. but the concept looks interesting. though it's basically just a small photo printer for printing your digital pictures. i don't see any point in terms of producing 'art'. it certainly doesn't make much sense, as a photographer, to print out your digital picture and then scan it on the computer. i see it as more of a tool for businesses or for families. i was really hoping it wasn't going to be a sticker camera...but it is.
i like how they are trying to soften the blow by putting the classic rainbow on the boxes.

Just don't discontinue 55.

That's all I ask.

Sigh.

I've just found you all, this morning.  In view of how you all feel about instant film etc., would you take a look at the Fujifilm Petition, and if you agree with it, sign?

I look forward to reading all the discussions here, many thanks!
