Weekend 2nd - 4th February 2024
« on: February 03, 2024, 09:58:27 AM »
Woo! It looks like everyone is napping this weekend!

I shot these last week coming back from meeting a friend on London's South Bank.

They are all tri-x at 1600. HC-110 for 16 minutes. I haven't shot this combination for some time. They're quite contrasty, but it seemed to suit the day and it's nice to be able to shoot in tube stations at night.

Nice shots Nigel, the grain is not bad at all for ISO 1600.
Managed to get out shooting last week, I had a Praktica CX-1 aka Coisina CX-1 in my pocket in addition to a rangefinder over my shoulder. I wanted to see what this little camera could do, although it's probably better suited to street work a la Daido Moriyama. It's not all bad considering that it was a gray and rather misty morning. I probably should have given the film an extra half minute in the developer to get more contrast.

Those turned out real nice Nigel, especially the first one. I was briefly in your town earlier in the week and managed a hour with the Noon pinhole on 6x12 again.
I am enjoying the format It'll only be problematic if I want to darkroom print.

I can’t remember when I last ran a film through my cameres,  but have decided to try and use them a bit more.

These are nothing special but were a test to see if my Rodinal purchased in 2010 would still do the business. Expired APX 400S rated @125 and stand developed 1:100 for 60 minutes.

Regards

Mike

Thanks, Irv. I was surprised, the grain was smaller than I expected. I've got another roll in the camera at 1600, I'm going to give it slightly longer in the developer this time. The last negs were a little thin.

That looks like Gravesend! You were in my 'hood!

Not napping, just cruising through online ads for gear I don't need....
Nigel, wow. That is some nice work, I love how it's a bit contrasty, and the crispy factor is perfect. Really nice.
Mike, good to see you here again. It's been a while. Hope to see more.

I've ordered a fresh color developing kit from the film photography guys, so hope to get that going soon as I have quite a bit of color stacked up just waiting for me to do something with it.

And now, you're making me wonder about how big of a chance I have that my 3 year old C-41 still works  :-\
I honestly don't think so but I'll do a leader test just to see.
