Weekend - October 21, 22 & 23, 2022
« on: October 21, 2022, 06:27:26 PM »
I hauled my new Crown Graphic 34 down to Oregon.  Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.7 lens.  The film is Adox CHS 100 II developed in Rodinal 1:50.

These crumbling old Grange halls are all over the U.S., especially in rural areas.  I guess the Grange isn't as popular as it used to be.  I remember watching some garage bands performing in a local Grange hall back in the 1980's.

While I was setting up to take this shot a guy came out of the building in the background.  He was very interested in my camera so I walked through the whole process with him.  He said he was asked by the owner of the motor home to look into fixing it up.  It looks beyond fixing to me.

When you consider what some people can do on old cars, nothing is really impossible, especially if you don't mind the smell that usually comes with these things.

Wayne Carini would soon have that polished up. Taken back to the metal and repainted - black of course as that's the only colour he's got. Just as well they ain't white wall tyres or they'd be gone. He would have to pin stripe the black ones though. He'd re-plate all the chrome (ah, there isn't any but I'm sure he'd find something to re-chrome) and, of course, the interior would have to be tobacco, not brown mind you, but tobacco. And then he'd put it up for auction with no reserve and lose money on it.

Yes, we get Chasing Classic Cars over here too.

I suppose anything can be fixed, but is it worth it.  Finding that windshield might be a challenge.

Definitely. I know of only two ways to get one: Lexan or Cuba (they still make windshields themselves for their old 50's cars)
