Happy/Merry Christmas
« on: December 16, 2021, 02:58:22 PM »
Bunkered down in a sensible country and with the firm expectation that I will not need to leave the house again for at least the next ten days, I notice that I have not yet put forward my annual online end-of-year Christmas card. So here it is. Anyone else put their cards online?

This shot is part of a set of rescanning I've been doing of some 550 35mm negatives taken in Oman between 1997 and 2000. I am just over halfway, but it fills the time well.

Wonderful!

I hoped there'd be some sharing.

I spotted these albino reindeer just off the high street. Fortunately I had a roll of light leaked HP4 that added some snow to the image.

Have a good one everyone, and thanks for all the wonder images, fun, and advice over the year. May 2022 be better for you and yours!

Another from the archive: Christmas in Southern California, 1931. My dad (as Santa) with his younger brother and sister.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Yup, and it was there in a public park/recreation area, living its life, when someone came along and decorated it. Nothing else anywhere nearby had any ornamentation whatsoever.

When your Father is Jewish you get a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  Christmas morning with my brothers, 1974.  We actually used that same tree for a few years, it was live in the pot and was kept in the back yard the rest of the year.

Wonderful!  ;D

And a bonus to have parents who didn't routinely decapitate their children with poor framing!

A not very Christmassy image, just another from ones I took recently.

But a very merry Xmas, happy holidays, seasonal greetings etc, to everyone.

Seasons greetings to all my filmwasting friends wherever you might be.

I don't get to shoot as often as I'd like, so I don't post as often as I should... but I check the forum regularly and marvel at your talent, even if I don't login and tell you so...

I expect I'll trot out the same old resolution come new year... shoot more, dev more, print more...

Anyhow... here's an oldie that I may or may not have posted before... I haven't shot colour slide for eons... probably on kodak elite chrome 100 which was my go-to way back when...

Stay warm, safe and healthy xxx

We had 2mm - that's right, two millimeters of snow this morning. It does brighten the day ever so slightly, and at these dark times we must be grateful for that. This is an old shot that represents a very common phenomenon here which we call bare frost.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas with your families!
Kai
