Fujipet, just outside of my budget
« on: December 19, 2007, 03:42:38 AM »
All:  Some of you maybe more up to speed on this subject, but  I am not, have been trying to hunt down Fujipet and finally found one.  I have been tracking one on ebay and the thing was just outside of my established budget.  It sold tonight for $380USD!!!!  Is this normal, I budgeted much less.
I really want to get one but looks like they are really going up in value?

Perhaps this was one of the Filmwasters.  Congrates, which ever side of the auction you were on.

If you want a Fuji Pet for a lot less, my neighbor has a small dog named Fuji  ;D

Well, not exactly but I thought it was funny.

Yes, unfortunately. The whole toy camera thing has really kicked onto the Fujipet too. They have perhaps tripled in price in Japan over the last year or so. A guess has perhaps fifty in use with toy cam fans outside of Japan - so that puts them in a pretty low volume domain. Price is the result.

Sheesh! Hell, I'm hangin' on to mine for dear life. If this keeps up, I might be able to retire with the proceeds... uh, or not! ;-)

Wow again, I did not know they went for that much, I thought about $100-$150 was pretty bad. This is why I will never own one. I think if I am going to use plastic I will use something in the under $50 range because a $350 camera is not going to help me take better photos and I would probably break it in any case. But then I do know some people are more into collecting gear than using it, which is cool for them, but not so much for me ( can't afford that and for me to pay that much for plastic, well lets just say, it would have to give me ---- and a hug in the morning). Reminds me of last night when I was in the guitar store and they had collectable guitars going for around the $50K range, which were not played by dead rock stars BTW. I guess I am just too practical, I mean, did they sound THAT much better? And even if you thought they did, would anyone else notice that or how well you could play it in the first place....just my thoughts, sorry for ranting.

coin operated boy
sitting on the shelf he is just a toy
but i turn him on and he comes to life
automatic joy
that is why i want a coin operated boy

made of plastic and elastic
he is rugged and long-lasting
who could ever ever ask for more
love without complications galore
many shapes and weights to choose from
i will never leave my bedroom
i will never cry at night again
wrap my arms around him and pretend....

Love it. Thanks.

i rarely buy things i don't use. some things look pretty on a shelf, but i still use them!

and i think with this particular camera, it was the color combo that upped the price. the regular black versions seem to sell for around $160 to $180. around $220 for just a red or green. but they do keep selling for more and more.

i wonder what ever happened to the transparent fujipet we saw a couple years ago? if it's on display somewhere or just shelfed away in a box.
